Replacement of seals in a Center Joint on a Hitachi Ex-30.

I too have a small Komatsu PC35 that isn’t tracking straight and weakness getting up trailer ramps. Thank you for the walk thru, I look forward to getting my fat hands into that cramped space (sarcasm) soon before she gets worse. I was worried about you pivoting the cab and then draining the hydr tank for fear of blocking your access thru the belly plate. Just wish video went to completion as going back in can be harder than hammering it out.

Follow up, i wanna Thank you again for putting up this video. After asking you few questions i decided to replace center joint seals, my issue was blade wont stay up or down, it was immediately falling down and left tracks were very slow, ordered seals and no one in US had them so they came from China and ended up wrong diameter seals 😢 than i measured my seals 3.2 inch and called again and second time i got the correct seals and now thanks to you my excavator is perfect. By the way my excavator is EX35 model. So cant thank you enough sir and God Bless, keep up the good quality videos coming.

I’ve got a 2000 EX35U. Great machine. It doesn’t track straight, and the direction it tracks to changes depending on which track the excavator is leaning on more. Example: if I’m tracking down a crowned road the excavator has more speed on the track with less weight. I believe the seals you did in this video could be my problem. It isn’t terrible yet but obviously noticeable

It now tracks straight and moves faster also better control of the tracks.

Awesome video sir !!!!! appreciate it, my blades goes up and down but will not stay up or down, it drops out to the ground instantly and left trucks very slow, im thinking i have the same issue with seals in the center joint where fluid mixing with blade and left trucks.

Yes that sounds like your problem. It now tracks straight and the blade stays up.

@@jafarhon Having a similar problem with only one track slowing down when warm, I replaced the track motor but its doing the same thing. Was it your swivel joint?

@@Bengineer-K Hi, Mine was slow no matter cold or hot, than my blade was also effected cause wont stay up or down, and yes after i replaced swivel joint seals it is perfect now, and swivel joint seals were completely shot on mine, now its running great and like new Thanks to this video.

I ordered it online. You should be able to search for your machine and find the seals.

We have a bobcat e26 that needed new seals on the swivel.It caused all of our hydraulic functions to be weak.It got to the point that the blade could barley lift the machine.Did u have the same symptoms when your seals went bad.And system pressures at the main releif were way below spec

I had the blade would not stay up and couldn’t lift the machine and the tracks wouldn’t move anymore. That’s what forced me to fix it. Before they didn’t move one track was faster then the other.

@@ericmaskell3278 Were your system pressures on the hydraulic system below spec.Our system pressure came out to be about 400psi low when operating

I didn’t check the pressure. I knew the center joint was bad so I just replaced it. It is possible that it is low because the hydraulic fluid can be flowing in the wrong direction and even returning to the reservoir.

whenever i assemble something i use a little condiment bottle with whatever fluid the system uses natively to live all the orings bushings etc. be it hydraulic fluid or engine oil or whatever. also, i do this cause im cheap :) saves me from buying one more thing.

It was difficult to get out. It’s hard to get to few hoses also.
