If you want to learn web development, you should only consider these frameworks: Front-end: 1. React (Language: JavaScript) 2. Vue (Language: JavaScript) 3. Angular (Language: TypeScript) Back-end: 1. Express (Language: NodeJS / JavaScript running on the server environment) 2. Django (Language: Python) 3. Laravel (Langauge: PHP) These frameworks are the best framework to use right now and the most popular amongst any other frameworks. And frameworks like Laravel ensure (how you mentioned that) that intermediate developers can cover a wide-range of web-applications. Newer developments like PHP-Swoole bring PHP on par with Node. And, most important: Once you mastered PHP learning C/C++ is very easy (compare the code similarity). With the tandem of PHP and C/C++ you can cover everything, even to extend PHP.

I think that php is a language to learn after you learn html, css, javascript, and react...For those starting out in web development and are looking for their first job learn html, css, js, and react. After you get your first job then start learning php. Since php is such a large portion of the web, there will eventually be a need for seasoned php developers. In the next few years there will be an influx of jr developers from college, from re-entering the workforce, ext. They are going to start scooping up the beginner jobs making it very competitive...if you know php and get really skilled at it, you can separate yourself from other jrs. Honestly learn html, css, js, react, vue, node, php, mysql, mongodb to cover your bases...it seems daunting but after you learn a framework and understand the concepts, the others will be easy. Give yourself a few years and you will get better.

If you’re getting into web design/development PHP is a must. From Wordpress to Magento - PHP is the main backend language with some additional dependency injection patterns. One of my favorite PHP frameworks is Phalcon PHP. MVC Frameworks are extremely handy dealing with databases and building web apps. To be honest in many ways you don’t need NodeJs , Angular, Vue.. etc. Basically in many ways they are a partial layer replacement for some of the data styling or manipulation of PHP. So.. when creating projects take some time to determine how many layers of functionality and cross communication are you going to have between the frontend and backend before just piling on layers and layers of more unnecessary languages.

Language choice matters less than architecture choice in my opinion. If you work in small independent modules, you can use a separate language for each module, you can pick according to use case and team experience. If you limit the size of each module to "a few days of work", then you can always replace the module within a few days as well. You can even experiment with more exotic languages if you want, because with limited module size it's not going to be a "choose once, live with it forever" thing. Now, picking a good message bus to let your services communicate with each other... that's quite important.

After you learnt and tried basics you can tell what is yours. Some guys adore front parts and never go deeper. It's up to you then. And if you dig deeper into backend parts - there is no frontend at all. Your programming is not much different from any other language, I tried python and some cpp and it cost nothing to use them in ocasional cases. Good luck and good choices to ya all )

I would also suggest learn SQL/MySQL, or even Mongo DB. The frontend JS frameworks to me are just a transfer of memory resource load from the backend to the frontend, which can be beneficial in some applications, its best to learn as much as possible, and develop projects to help you learn the pros and cons.

I have to pause the video in the mid just to write this comment. First of all, stop comparing PHP to Angular and React they are the frontend frameworks, PHP can be used to serve API to Angular and React as well. Secondly PHP VS Node.js has totally different execution model, PHP is a scripting language where node.js works on a non-blocking IO model. believe me, no game developer will prefer its server engine to be built on PHP. JS is universal, its popular because of some reason. it can be used almost anywhere ( from the clients to the servers, desktop applications #ThanksToElectron, mobile applications #ionic #ReactNative and Embedded System as well)

Sir thank you so much for making this video. I would like to add something in it. It is not necessary that only PHP developers can learn other technologies faster, but a developer who has knowledge of 1. What web development is, 2. What OOP and MVC is, 3. What framework is and how does it work, 4. How to manipulate data as per requirement kind of things even in any language can easily learn any language. So I would suggest beginners that it doesn't matter in which language you have started or whether that language is more or less trending, but once you understand that language completely, then to learn any new language/technology what you really need to do is just read documentation or follow any tutorial to understand why it is used and how it is used, that's it. And mostly as mentioned by sir, choose your language on the basis of requirements, not because it is trending or easy.

In fact, one of the reasons (not *the* reason) we have different programming langauges is because there are people who prefer one syntax over the other. Yes, all of what you have mentioned is important. I just don't see why is it bad for someone to like a certain programing language because he prefers the syntax over others. For example, I do like a lot Ruby and Python because of the syntactic sugar, and they let me write cleaner code. Maybe not the best for certain scenarios, but we're here talking about "liking" and not "right tool for the job".

There's a huge amount of programming languages in the world and all of them were created to solve a different spectrum of problems. Therefore, everyone has specific characteristics that make them unique. I think Hitesh tries to say that we shouldn't select one over others based on the syntax because at the end of the day that doesn't matter. What matters is being able to build a technological solution to solve the problem that an organization is dealing with. And if we are in a situation where we have to pick a specific programing language for a project, the syntaxis is the last thing we should consider.

In my experience, PHP/mysql is the easiest, quickest and most robust/reliable combinations to get something going really quickly for small to mid sized sites. Especially with a framework like laravel.

Still 80% of web and 70% of App API development is going on PHP. Its not going die for at least next 12 years. After PHP 7.0 it became more faster and more reliable language. With front-end technologies increasing may be PHP have less jobs than Front-end developers. But you cant ignore that its the most reliable scripting language from last 20 years. Being a Zend Certified PHP Engineer, I love working with PHP. I worked with many Progressive Web App's these days using Angular, Native but PHP is undeniable choice for developing API.

@@gauravnagar3712 you still didn't got the point he is trying to make. It depends on the use case. If you are dealing with tons of I/O calls node js is the best possible tech stack. But if you are doing some CPU intensive work that nodejs is not a good choice. It depends on the use case. Simply loving a programming language is not the way to go

Originally php dev here. Although I've moved more towards the frontend during the years. I also picked up Rust for learning on my spare time. Great nifty language. Super easy to get in and learn common patterns in programming and get productive fast. I'm although a bit disappointed with fixating on wordpress. Symfony / Laravel is usually more lucrative and allows to progress as developer, although these were mentioned they weren't put on the spotlight as much it seems. You can easily find yourself locked into CMS ecosystems. Problem is that most of those CMS are really old and not in sync of how quality code is done now days so what you learn there won't carry over all that much into your career, and to keep investing into them when we have cloud hosting + static site generators like gatsby doesn't seem optimal. That being said php somewhat does suffer from existential threat and have been in decline in past few years. And that's not due to language being bad in particular, but the platforms we do our applications changing. That being multi core processing and cloud computing. Given that Zend is no longer going to finance development of PHP the future of the language past php 8 is a bit daunting as it's not clear if it will manage to adapt quick enough to changing demands. We'll see if community will step in. For those who do php well. Languages like Go can prove be rather easy to pick up. Although .. at current state Go has nowhere near the support for SQL databases as PHP with it's DBAL abstraction. So by no means I advise to stop doing php. But you might want to look around a bit too. And as video author mentioned, once you get in grips with PHP other general purpose programming languages aren't that difficult to get into. The hardest part will be usually async. That's why I recommended Go :) as it's async model writes like sync code much like what you do in php.

I don't think python is loved by many because of the abundance of packages as mentioned in the video. The reason for that much packages is the simplicity in the first place. I feel like when we look at the root case, python is popular because it is simpler. Which made people to create many packages with it. And just don't think it is the single reason. It all depends on perspective.
