These two snowy infiltration missions are some of the most broken and bugged out in the entire game. And the disguises are completley useless except for snipers. But they are pretty easy to get silent assassin as long as you save at the right parts.

It took me an hour of dying over and over and over again to realize that if you take the katana from last mission with you into this one and walk past the sniper towers they will shoot you on sight. I kept it because it made it fun to have the guards run up to you, ask you for ID one by one and slaughter them. But since the snipers are in a tower they skip that step and shoot you the moment they see you with a katana. Super annoying but after I saw you run past them w no weapon that’s what helped me realize. I might’ve been there another hour otherwise

If you disguise as guards, do what they do. If they don't Katana at that spot, don't. Even if they see the type of guard they do not expect there, they get suspicious.

Im playing on pc, some things i did read in the comments: using the disguise protects you from snipers, the guards check your id before noticing you, so you have some seconds to neutralize them I find weird that you have silent assasin even when your disguise was discovered and guards saw you, but i couldnt get this missions for 2 days and tried this, is true you can do it in the first try

Four things I hate about this game: 1-Hayamoto Missions (Except Shogun Showdown) 2-Sneaking speed 3-The fact that there are no briefcases to conceal sniper rifles. 4-St Petersburg Revisted

Sneaking speed is realistic, and St Petersburg Revisted is not as anoying as the Hayamoto ones, of which Tracking Hayamoto and Hidden Valley are not that hard. At the gates is the most anoying one. By chance, do you know what the japanese guards say when you fight them ? i know yame yame comes from *yameru* , it means stop.

@@Arygo87 the Japanese Ninjas don't even speak Japanese, it's a gibberish similar to Japanese but not Japanese and St Petersburg Revisted is annoying if you're playing it for the first time and have no idea what's happening, same as Terminal Hospitality. The Hidden Valley is the worst mission there is even At The Gates isn't as hard as this one unless you get spotted by a Sniper. P.S Sneaking Speed isn't realistic because I was trained to be stealthy, I'd get yelled at and punished if I sneak as slow as 47 in Silent Assassin.

@@Arygo87 I'm not talking about Suit Only, I'm talking about the Silent Assassin rating in Hayamoto Missions especially in The Hidden Valley mission because it's the only mission that I couldn't get that rating in, I got the Silent Assassin rating in At The Gates though it was hard but The Hidden Valley... Never because the truck keeps running over one of the Ninjas patrolling the tunnel thus making it impossible for me to get the Silent Assassin rating in that mission and I'm almost certain that it's a problem in my version of the game.

@@Arygo87 Hidden Valley's pretty hard if you're trying to get PRO/SA. Aside from that, you can put on a disguise and get in the back of a truck and just blast anyone who stops the car.

The hidden valley, At the Gates, and shotgun are the three hardest and awful missions in H2 :Silent assassin. I was starting shoot my way through as the ninjas always yell "Yamen" at me.

I was always getting the Custom Rifle on this level by shooting a sniper guard with the crossbow. This way you can keep the SA rating, but it's hell of difficult. The Custom Rifle does not always fall where it is supposed to fall when you kill that sniper. I had to take many attempts, nearly got desperate.

You can get the custom rifle way more easily in the final mission of the game

@First Name Last Name, Yeah, but then you're not going to have it until the last level. Besides, in the last level itself, you can start with the custom rifle as soon as you get to your weapon storage, whereas otherwise you'd first have to kill a sniper who's wielding it, and manage to take the rifle off his body. Other snipers will probably see you and start shooting, so you'd probably have to kill most of them before you get to the custom rifle. This leaves no opportunity to actually use the custom rifle on somebody. Whereas, if you get the rifle early in the game, you can pretty much complete the last mission with it, which is a lot of fun.

@@bormisha you can get it from one of the guys on the balcony on the left hand side of the church, just go straight there and kill them and get it and then you can use it on all the guys on the ground floor. As for the rest of the game, there are other snipers worth using like SVD but its down to you i guess

Monochrome Studios I'd disagree with you on that because in Absolution, there are more opportunities and it's not a trial and error gameplay and you can still knockout and kill (armed) enemies even if you don't have a melee weapon and you don't have to wait for your opponent to make a move as you can distract him to get past him without having to take or knock him out!

To not die by the snipers when going past the main wall through using the front door, you gotta sneak to the door. DONT MAKE THE GUY TO YOUR LEFT LOOKING OUT THE WINDOW YELL. The snipers will circumcise you if you do.

Me and you came right here from previous mission with no ability to re supply out anesthetic. I assume there is a way to fiber wire the guard on the first power grid. He spotted me and as he checked my I.D I shanked him with a combat knife. Then running into the building after got spotted and shot by a sniper so I'm really screwed.

MaynardOwns You can fiber wire the second guy you just need to manage to get behind him while he is checking id before he starts shooting. hide behind the first rock when he is closest to you get ready to start walking towards him when he starts walking away, I didn't try to sneak I never would have gotten behind him in time. when you are close he will turn around say something you need to get behind him fast and choke him out. There's a storm outside yet they are able to know in less than 1 second that you are not the usual patrol. They must have the best vision in the world to be able to spot the white guy under the full winter gear.

You have cheats or modified files... That first guard should have turned around faster than you could grab him by running behind him. Also, those sniper guards would have fired at you immediately if you would have run like that towards the castle.

These two snow missions should have been the easiest in the entire game, simply because they are happening in a snow storm and visibility is low. It should have been possible to just take one guard's clothes (one that patrols near the crossbow location) and just stroll on to the castle, but instead they were made into absolute bulls**ts of missions. Btw, in the Shogun showdown mission guards will let you pass without looking at you twice if you disguise as one of them so I don't see a reason why they bother you with checking your ID in the middle of a F***ING SNOWSTORM. These missions are the only reason why this game dosn't deserve the perfect 10
