Wow, I’ve noticed Helen’s first phone call with Janus and the body parts in her twisted cannibalistic serial killer basement and knew she was dodgy, but I never really bothered to look further into her backstory. It’s sickening and horrifying to think that the citizens of whittleton creek are obliviously eating human muffins. And what’s even scarier is that people like her actually exist in real life, where on the exterior they seem like lovely and harmless people but deep down they’re secretly a murderous psychopath
@mrmr-qx4jq2 жыл бұрын
Lol I never knew any of this this crazy
@LabTech412 жыл бұрын
Actually, if you take the game as a whole along with all the 'elusive target' scenarios, that neighborhood actually has TWO serial killers, her, and the Elusive Target. Thing is, the ET is super-obvious if you're paying attention, and it's clear the only reason he's not been caught is because the neighborhood is amazingly vapid and not paying attention. Serial killers, or the sociopath/psychopath personality type, exists in about 1-5% of the population, which means that if you passed 100 people on the street, statistically you walked by 4 sociopaths and 1 psychopath and never even realized it. Thing is, most people like that don't even realize that's what they are, and most people are completely oblivious to their true nature because they just come off as assholes or bitches; basically, if you've ever had to deal with an awful boss, you were probably dealing with that 1-5%. Just because that's what they are, doesn't necessarily mean they'll kill or even hurt anyone, it just means they truly don't care what other people feel or think, and people are just tools and resources to be exploited, which is why a lot of them end up in leadership/political roles; if you've ever wondered why Politician X could sell out the country and do some heinous illegal shit, that's why. The scary thing though, is that the ones that are truly sick, truly gone off the reservation, are also very good at emulating baseline personality traits; they study the normal reactions other people have, and they wear it like a mask, such as how Muffin Lady hides her true nature behind a kind old granny disguise. We'll never know how many serial killers are out there, because for every one we catch, there's probably 4 or 5 who were smart enough, careful enough, and thorough enough to completely evade detection. Those muffins probably are pretty good, though.

Whittleton Creek - Story Opportunity "Helen West - Creek O'Courant Exposé" (You take the disguise of a journalist coming into town searching for a hot scoop. It was originally to interview Helen on what makes her muffins so good. If you discover the murder basement in the journalist outfit though, Helen will come down there and try to attack you with a cleaver. Dispatch her and then use the phone to call the police or optionally, Janus. You can ask him for a personal interview to write down his thoughts on the recent discovery as the police arrest her. Janus could be unempathetic to cannibalism, talking about his Cold War stories, or maybe disappointed in Helen and a bit at himself for being so excited over human muffins all these years. All of this conclude in you stabbing Janus through the eye with a pencil or letting Janus go for some reason. I think this side content has TOO MUCH potential to be an opportunity or a side contract to be left out.

Can't help but wonder if the player's initiative is taken away from 47, he himself would take time out of the Janus job to eliminate West as well. His morals do look down on unhinged/serial killers, but he can be picky about killing outside of his contracts at times.

Ok imma piece this one together... Helen has urges that makes her want to kill people, she can’t hold off the urge and murders Frank Schmitt, Frank worked for Janus and that leads to Helen and Janus meeting and becoming friends, Helen experiments and possibly bakes using corpse parts, and Janus may have eaten Frank.

Just as the beast inside Helen was finally unchained, like a vigilant knight, 47 was there to put an end to her before her true nature could be unleashed upon the neighborhood. 47 may be an unfeeling, efficient assassin, but some contracts do more good than harm. Not that 47 would care about such things, but still.

So if Im understanding, Schmidt was the original harold who was watching Janus, Until assumably Helan accidentally killed him. Her basement is, Kinda a murder basement she's trying to keep her urges under control but she's slipping and Schmidt's accidental death didn't make it better.

I guess you're right. As much as they have wicked inclinations to harm, they're still human and it must be very lonely having those feelings and knowing you can't talk to anybody else about it. It does make you wonder if 47 suffers from the same pain or is he really a machine, being utterly disconnected from any hint of humanity?
