And that’s the beauty of it, I guess: no matter how dark, and I mean *dark*, your past might’ve been, sometimes taking care of somebody else, especially as a single parent, now, both causes more precedence and ultimately makes you realize you are *who you choose to be in the now*.

Kratos is one of the best if not the best Character a video game has ever made, from a merciless killer to a wise man who learnt from all those mistakes.

Arthur Morgan and Kratos are my two favorite video game characters, Kratos was a boy filled with revenge and hatred for the gods and now is an old wise man who wants to teach his son the error of his ways, and Arthur Morgan was a loyal blind to life boy who lived on the run to becoming a man who learns that in the end you should be wise and learn from your mistakes and cares for his family in the end

This is a great example of a character changed by his actions. In the first 3 games, all Kratos wanted was revenge. First against Ares, who had taken his life and ruined it. Then against Zeus for the remainder of the two direct sequels (sorry Ghost of Sparta and Ascension, but I can't really place you in the timeline myself and I don't want to seem knowledgeable about something I haven't played). Come 2018, Kratos has changed greatly. Now left with the emptiness of his constant rage and hatred, he strives to ensure his son doesn't repeat his mistakes. But those actions continue to haunt him. The scars on his arms from the blades he used for so long, the ghost of Athena, and the near immortality are remnants of a life he caused to himself. This is what we need more of. Not some COD with no change of story, no crappy rip off sequels, just time, effort, and focus on making your central, and sometimes more importantly, your villainous characters seem more real.

Very good synopsis, as for the order of the games it is, Ascension, Chains of Olympus, GoW 1, Betrayal, Ghost of Sparta, GoW 2, GoW 3, and finally GoW 2018.

What I find most interesting when the sequel comes around; Kratos never told him about his daughter/sister and wife. I really hope they do bring it up in the next game. It would make for some good story, hell maybe they somehow bring her back so he would have to confront her about what happened.
