@@Wasmachineman I kind of have to disagree. I mean the soundtrack is alright and isn't bad or anything but it sounds way too generic and James Bondy and is not really memorable for me at all. Jesper Kyd's soundtracks were just really good, unique and memorable which is why it's such a shame he never returned to keep composing for the Hitman games. Oh and I think Patient Zero's soundtrack is a lot better than the James Bond type of music which the main game has which I personally am not a big fan of as it doesn't match Hitman at all in my opinion.

The D-F-C# leitmotif used throughout this is extremely good at adding mystery and tension, and its variations are also good, such as the one at 3:53, or the faster ones used in action scenes such as at 7:38.

It's a long shot but do you know the order of the notes in the other variations ?

@@funkycord1336 Generally the other variations share the same notes, in the faster ones such as the combat track you may hear a D-F-D-F-D-C#-D or the one with the high notes (D-A-F-D-A-Bb-A-Ab). There is also a variation a note up (E-G-E-G-E-Db-E) which plays at the beginning of Ambience 2 and maybe elsewhere. The more quiet and slow ones I don't think I can tell. I hope that's what you wanted to know.

Initially I thought the Patient Zero leitmotif--the three notes--was kind of lazy, but I've grown to appreciate the variations the leitmotif undergoes in a lot of the other Patient Zero themes. Patient Zero definitely feels a lot darker than the main trilogy campaign. The atmosphere of the levels reflect this, sometimes literally; The Source and The Author both take place at night, giving the normally beautiful Sapienza and Himmapan Hotel an ominous aura. The change to daytime in Hokkaido makes the level brighter, providing a nice juxtaposition against the dark themes of Patient Zero. The tracks in the first three missions feel mysterious and ominous, while the tracks in the final mission feel serious and intense. They really nail down the feeling that the fate of the world is at stake and you're the deciding factor. My favorite is definitely the Patient Zero combat theme. The Patient Zero leitmotif, which for most of the campaign has been a twinkling piano with other instruments here and there, is turned up to 11 with string instruments and thumping, growling synths, creating a sense of unease and highlighting the tension of the situation. It works best, I feel, when blasting through crowds of infected patients while infected guards try to hunt you down. I feel bad when I'm forced to cut down tons of infected NPCs, even if they're hostile guards actively trying to kill me. They're simply going about their business or doing their jobs, but they have to die to prevent the virus from spreading. Even if I don't like the other Patient Zero missions all that much, I admit that the much more serious mood (and the moral greyness you have to deal with by being forced to kill innocent people) of the final mission make me enjoy it a lot more than the others. And also killing everybody on the map is fun. Hehe.

To be fair, I kinda dislike the last mission, simply because in Hitman 2 you can't prevent the spread anymore. In Hitman 1 it was possible to distract the one surgeon lady that gets infected first, luring her away and choking her out would prevent the virus from spreading. Now I can't do the Sniper Assassin challenge anymore :/

There’s also one in the Isle of Sgáil map where Jebbadiah Block and his friend mention something about the “Kiruna Treaty”. Although Kiruna is the name of a town in Switzerland, the way they pronounce it is “Corona”. Sapienza for the main level soundtracks, then I'll upload misc tracks waiting for HITMAN 2's release such as completion theme (I worked on it before but I wasn't satisfied as the official soundtrack version sounds and will always sound way better), main menu theme, Holiday Hoarders version of Paris' intro theme, radio tracks, Hokkaido's ninja entrance theme, songs unique to some levels, etc. It won't have everything though, since for example pro mode menu theme applies a filter over the regular one and I want to avoid ripping tracks directly from in-game as much as possible. And I can't find some tracks like the mission briefing variant with violins of the main theme either. Thankfully other people have uploaded those.
