Sending you a massive hug, Hitomi. Please know that whatever choices you make will be met with love and compassion from my side, and I feel pretty confident that most of this sweet community you’ve attracted will hold your shifts in the same way. May you enjoy gentle acceptance of what your body needs. This is the karma ripening right now, and it is bringing intense purification. One of my teachers said that crying is like shedding layers of ignorance, a tool bringing us closer and closer to our true nature of light and love. You are a treasure and I hope we get to keep walking this parallel life path into old age! Xo, my soul sister.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful pearl of a video, it brought great solace to a heart that is hurting. I was vegan for 6 years and and it transformed my relationship with food and taught me how to eat healthy. Then I decided to eat ALL things that I feel good with and let go of the vegan diet. I am not a public figure so I did not get the backlash that you and others online have from changing their diets. There are plenty of us who were vegan and are not anymore so do not feel alone in that. My mental health has also taken a turn lately, have no shame on how you are helping yourself recover love 💗. It’s hard enough taking the actions you have while having a low mental mood. Keep it up because the light always comes back out and I want to stand in the light with you again 🫶✨

this is entirely valid, and i have been in the same predicament. this month i started incorporating salmon into my diet after 6 years plant based. my health has been declining, and the less energy i had, the more challenging it was to even make myself a nutritious vegan meal (let alone ensure i'm getting my nutrients in). my gut health has been sooo crap and after now 3 weeks of eating salmon at least 3x a week, my digestion is getting better and my bloating has decreased. i can digest a lot of foods way better now. a vegan diet is such a beautiful thing, being able to take every bite and feeling lively. but listening to our body is #1 priority. i've been breaking down a lot of shaming thoughts regarding eating salmon again as it was a living creature, but im doing my best to be gentle on myself. i know this isn't easy, and you are so supported. this is your life, and your body. your devotion to your own mind, body, and spirit with respect for others is why a lot of us are here in the first place. please keep doing you. i hope that the changes you've been making continue to support your vessel.

This video was, to me, so worth putting on the internet Hitomi. A beautiful reminder of the fact that we ALL go through external and internal shifts and changes, our health is something to prioritize, crying daily happens and acting from loves makes it all worthwhile. With personally just having moved, coming out of burn out still struggling with fatigue/gut health, financial instability and a breakup fresh on my heart - this was comforting in every way. Sending you so much love and light and may our tummies stop being weird abt it

What has always drawn me to hitomi and her videos have never been the aesthetic or lifestyle (although it is very appealing) but rather her honesty and vulnerability. And although she doesn’t always feel great…it is very inspiring because it allows me to be my whole self unapologetically and love myself throught it all. If you ever read this, Hitomi. Thank you for always being a safe space and a reflection of radical acceptance. Love you, dear angel.

I just wanted to affirm that nothing is binary, including veganism. It's all about the values, and if you're body is crumbling and you haven't found yet a way to keep sustaining yourself on a plant based diet, using animal products as a rescue is totally valid! I can imagine how crushing it must feel for needing to compromise your values :( I hope it's temporarily and that there is a way to come back thriving on a plant based diet. I'm sending you so much love on your journey back to both physical and mental health, you can do this!!

I’m no longer vegan myself but I understand it was a beautiful aspect of my life and respect and recognize the positive effects it has on our minds and bodies. I challenge many to walk the path at least once in their lives as it is a beautiful journey. I will say this.. A lot of those whom have been vegan once return to veganism or later become vegetarian by default LOL 🤷‍♀️😇

Girl, I literally started crying at the end, just realising how much of a friend you were to me actually for years now. I cherish your existence, your videos are such a profoundly deep nourishent and a guidance to self, wich I honor and appreciate so much. I resonate and can relate to so much of what you share - I am also prone to isolating but crave a loving community, learning and relearning how to love and take care of my self every day, figuring out what path brings me true fulfillment. Seeing you being so brave, vulnerable and embodied in your journey really brings me reassurance that I can pour love into the life I have in order to nourish the life I want to create. I just, I could write you a letter, there is so much to say ❤️ And let me tell you - I know the heartbreak of eating animal products after being strictly vegan for years, I've been there - I was so malnourished even though I was doing my best, there was just a lot of stress in maintaining this kind of diet and it really reflected in my mental health. I know the transition is confusing (I was sobbing while eating my first egg) but remind yourself that the most important thing is that you are listening to your body, you have a right to explore what feels right for you, you are the one that decides. There is no universal right or wrong, only what is right for you in this moment. Since I've allowed myself the flexibility in my own diet, I feel so much stronger and more capable in my body. It is liberating. And that decision does not define what I will choose to do for the rest of my life, it just honors what is best for me now. I am sharing all of this just to give some support back to you, you did so much for me you have no idea. This is getting long so I'm gonna stop. Hitomi, I love you, I thank you, and I send you a spark of my fiery encouragement to unapologetically change yourself and your expression in ways that support your inner authentic truth most ❤️ Giving you a big hug, Bruna

I respect everyone's choices and lifestyle. I've been vegan for 11 years and can't see myself incorporating any animal products into my diet. I take a multivitamin daily, eat a somewhat varied diet, and haven't had gut issues. People around me get sick and I never do. I look younger than my age. Maybe Dr. Michael Greger might have some insight. He's a wealth of knowledge on plant based diets.

Michael Greger does a lot of cherry picking though, probably Hitomi needs a bit more science-based facts. There are claims that bone broth can help with weight loss, gut health, and joint health - but there's little evidence to support this. Sooo yeah. Not sure what doctors she went to.

thank you for sharing your journey and being vulnerable and honest about your plant based and veganism journey. i was vegan for two years and it wrecked my health. incorporating animal products was hard but so necessary for my health. what helped me was changing my perspective on eating: eating like my ancestors, eating only pasture raised, organic, sustainable meat, poultry, dairy, etc. and listening to my body. i also eat cyclically, so red meats during my menstrual phase, and more whole foods (this is key!!! limiting processed or mock foods) and plants during my ovulation phase, etc. you are still my favorite person on the internet and appreciate you so much for being an open book always. you got this!! its not an easy transition but its so worth it to get your health back. xoxoxo sarah

I've been surprised to know several women in my sphere who are around the same age as me going back to eating meat. I think so many people have realized this and it is such a great shift. Healthier for us all as individuals, and less polarizing to those who are considered cutting down their consumption of animal products. The world would be so much better if people ate more plant based with a certain amount of animal products that were raised with the environment and animal welfare in mind. And I see the shift happening, as I see more and more people who have the budget to buy more ethically raised animal products choosing those options.

you have created one of the safest places on the internet - thank you hitomi :) for reference, I have been vegan for 3 years, gluten-free for ~2 i had a leaky gut after going on a raw vegan cleanse then eating out for several days straight. it completely shocked my digestive system and I had stomach pains that brought me to tears, I couldn't sleep at night but I was so exhausted all day. i came across this video of someone who had the same issue and they recommended l-glutamine. girl, when I tell you that this instantly cured me, I am not exaggerating. i was eating low fodmap foods as well, but I took this powder with water and within two doses, I was back to normal. i know you felt you've exhausted all your options but I'm not sure if you've explored this one. sending love and healing! ✨

Hi Hitomi👋🏼 I absolutely love your videos; they always inspire me! I just wanted to thank you especially for this video because I recently started incorporating animal products back into my diet after 5 years as a vegan, and it’s been a hard transition. I always feel insecure talking about it and I just wanted to commend you for being open about your journey! I hope you are starting to feel better 🩷 Thank you for your videos, you’re a rockstar 🥰

Thank you for continuing to share your journey with truth and authenticity. Your videos are so cherished, and you are so loved. You must heal yourself as only you know how, and listen to your own wisdom. Others should never judge anyone for that. I have been plant based for over 30 years-for all the reasons-and want to thank you for taking such good care of yourself and listening so closely and with such love to what your earthly body needs. You continue to act from love in all that you do and the whole universe feels that. Love and blessings 🤎🤎🤎

You helped me through some difficult ass times. So maybe you're stepping into a new purpose but you've definitely fulfilled some of what you were meant to do down here.

Hitomi ❤ Can you please share more details about healing your bloating/gut? I’m literally out here in the same boat but haven’t been able to find a good naturopath to help me. Finding answers online from a reliable source is hard. Even though your body is different, it’d be so helpful on my journey of healing to know what you’re doing / what your naturopath says and also what’s been working so far (even if you haven’t fully healed it❤). Love you angel!

I made a similar shift from veganism to incorporating some animal products because of awful IBS, multiple deficiencies and getting diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder about five years ago. It made such a big difference to my health and I really don’t regret it. Props to you for being honest about this process and hope it helps you to heal ❤

I am so glad you are opening your diet because as someone who has ranched animals and land for years colostrum is necessary for weak animals who have no microbiome and no vitanime/mineral base. I'm glad you're taking measures to care for yourself because you're worth it. Thank you for sharing experience veganism is great, but you need to supplement well and consistently in order to maintain your general health. Your journey has inspired me to better my daily gut health. Sending all the love :)

Loving that you’re sharing your health journey - you don’t need to stay 100% plant based all the time. So many ways to view life and morality… making these lifestyle changes sometimes make us grieve earlier values systems (like when I needed to stop being 100% vegetarian for my health too) but what’s emerging is actually a view on life that’s a lot more holistic, accepting, and full of shades of grey… and I still love eating plant based!

i used to be vegan and then once I diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder, I also had to make that switch. its hard and dealing with those emotions can be challenging.. especially when you have so many ethics wrapped into it. But... you can't save the world and be great unless your health is where it needs to be. Good luck!

Why does it bother you so much when it’s a very common experience? Animal foods are obviously more nutrient dense hence why many people feel better when they reintroduce it into their diet. It doesn’t mean you have to stop eating plants. Balance IS key.

Also, a few things that have helped me so far are psyllium husk, slippery elm powder, looots of GI supportive herbal teas (fennel, ginger, chamomile, marshmallow, licorice root, etc), ashwagandha, cranio sacral therapy with somato emotional release, and of course other therapies and what not. I’m sure you’re already doing a lot of that stuff but just wanted to add it🫂

i was vegan for years, it made me feel so good and healthy and light. but I had more goals for my body and I have lots of deficiencies and gut health issues I'm still working through. i also made the decision to re-incorperate animal based products back into my diet including meat. for so long and even sometimes still to this day I felt so guilty for making that switch back. it was an internal battled I faced for months if not a year. and at the begging I refused to tell anyone in my life I was eating animal products again. i hid behind the label because it was a part of me for a long time. but once I opened up about it to my loved ones I was met with so much support and it gave me the confidence to support myself in making a decision that was ultimately the best thing for me. i still fight agasit animal cruiltey, climate change, sustainability. but I know know I can believe in those things and meet myself where I am at in this cycle of life. there are more sustainable options to eating animal products such as buying locally or doing research into brands you see at the grocery store. I started watching your videos around the same time I made the og switch to being vegan, you have inspired me for years and to see you have this guilt/ nervousness for putting your health first makes me wish I could jump through the screen and give you the biggest hug ever. always stay true to yourself and don't let the opinions of others bring you down. your light shines so bright throughout the whole earth and nothing can change that. always do whats best for you and move with love.

I'm proud of you Hitomi! I have suffered with adult acne as well. Plenty of animal protein is the only thing that helps. I tried being plant based /vegan for 7 years, but I couldn't go more than 2 weeks without meat, without feeling negative effects. But I kept pushing myself, telling myself I was doing it wrong. Untill, I realized the problem was the diet.

Thanks for sharing your feelings and your journey with health and diet. I was almost fully vegan for years and years, and I too had to reincorporate bone and animal protein into my diet to heal my gut and some very serious skin issues (triggered by unbearable amounts of stress I was going through). Coming to terms with it was mentally hard at first, but then I started healing, and I accepted that if it was what my body needed then I should show myself more compassion and less judgement. And I'd say I healed fully, even though at first it felt like it was never going to happen. I still am very careful with what I eat but now I can have almost anything again. I'm very happy. Good video!

Hey Hitomi, just wanted to share that I had VERY similar health issues to you in the past when i was vegan-ish (I've heard you describe them a bit in other videos) and I have to say that including more animal products has completely healed it. It did take some time...I would say it took a full 6 months of me consuming animal products on a very regular basis and also NOT feeling guilty about it/overthinking it/expecting immediate results for all the symptoms to clear up. Taking this step was one of the best things I could have ever done for my health and my relationship to food in general. I'm really excited that you're giving it a try & hope it brings you healing! also props for sharing this on your vlog - that's super brave
