I swear just knowing and applying the physics of this game gets you to gc. Like cutting into the balls momentum for (bounce) dribble, powerslide cut or powerful and high shots. A falling ball is harder to shoot higher so you have to hit it lower (a ball going up is easier for air dribbles and ball at its peak for flip resets). Griff got a Phd in Ball science.

Man, every time I watch one of your tutorials I feel like I learn so much. Thank you for the constant streamlined way that you present information! Do you think that you could do a tutorial on Musty Flicks? Including, if possible, ground, wall, ceiling, and flip resets? I know there are tons of other ones but the way that you present information has always seemed best to me. Either way, thanks for always producing quality videos

Dude I *love* your analytical, thorough, and progressive (in terms of progression) way of thinking, especially teaching. I've been using your speed flip & DAR videos to train for a while now and have genuinely noticed improvement! I totally agree that understanding something at its core, understanding its fundamentals are crucial (for a brain like mine lol) to get better and learn *how* to get better, learn how to learn in this facet, etc. etc. Appreciate your work here!!

Finally a new video by you. And aditionally on a topic that is so important and one im currnetly trying to "master" as many high level players say its one of the most important things. I always found it a bit boring to practice powershots and only used this one workshop map everybody uses. I'm c3 2's c1 1's. And i feel like im not alone on this :) I've always found it hard to translate the practice into the real game because i am not shooting on a net. And that is where you're training pack (i think) will really help me. After palying for a short time i've found you really managed to capture all the basic shots (at least as far as you can brake down all the complex situation that occur in your games). Thank you for that. I hope it really helps to learn to get consistent. I mean your videos on the mawkzy flick (hmm that was so good) and youre speedflip one (you made points nobody else did and they helped pick it up quite quickly) did help me so much so that i'm confident this one will as well :) Im really excited on whats to come although im aware that these kind of videos take a real long time to make. I have a video idea/wish. Maybe you could do occasional update videos where you go over what you learned over the past maybe 2 weeks or so. Maybe pick some topics you will focus on. Get some clips from you doing these mechanics/concepts ingame and then show these mechanics/concepts again when you are ready to do an update video. Always am so glad when youre uploading a new video cause im so into improving and improving my improving. And youre videos are just... great. Sorry ive been goin too long about it. Have a nice day. :)

This entire series you've made is wonderful so far, I find myself coming back to it when I feel I need to improve. I took a couple long breaks from this game over the years and I'm happy to see so many hidden gems out there like your channel. It definitely helps the rusty ones like me get back into gear. 🎉 The only struggle I've had "Un-learning" are things such as consistency, rotations and where is the best spot to be in plays, or just in general my car glitching out after flips or flip canceling (like how sometimes in half flips the car won't always cancel, but go the opposite direction, and I'm not talking about a quarter half flip 😂). It's probably just the fact my wifi is 3mbs and i use an old ps4 slim. But if that's not the case, I'm hoping there are ways to prevent such mistakes. Keep up the wonderful videos Griff!!!

Nc video, but why wasnt the balls physics included in the video?
@Grifflicious Жыл бұрын
To be honest, since this was meant to be a "follow up" to the video Virge did on the same subject, I let his explanation of ball physics live there and not do double work. To that point though, I will eventually make a video on ball physics as it relates to all facets of the game, not just power shots but catches, dribbles, aerials, and more!

the plugin doesn't seem to be completely accurate. Sometimes when I really quickly change stick direction before flipping, it doesn't report the correct final stick direction. I think it might not be checking for stick direction frequently enough or something. Otherwise, pretty good video. I feel like you should have gone a bit more in-depth with how far you lean back before you front flip into the shot affects your shot. Like I know that if you lean back way too far then it might not even flip into the correct direction. Basically, how to powershot balls that are just a bit too high to comfortably be powershot. Also, how a shot using stick forward and left/right air roll differs from a powershot that just uses a diagonal stick.

could you do a video on best stick setting for rocket league ? Im refering to dualsense edge controller which playstation came out with
@Grifflicious Жыл бұрын
Hmm, I'm not quite sure I'm the guy for that since I use the Dualshock 4 controller. I'm certain there are some general things that could apply to every controller but even Xbox controllers differ in their feel so it's kinda tough to make a "one size fits all" approach to something like that. If you're looking for my settings specifically, I have them in my video description.

Shots 7 and 8 aren't quite clear to me. Can you break the steps down? From the video and without knowing your button layout I couldn't quite figure it out.
@Grifflicious Жыл бұрын
Sure. So let's take that visual example of the straight line mass but instead of the middle of the car, angle it so it goes from the front left finder, through the center of mass, to the opposite rear fender. When you do a speed flip, aka, diagonal front flip, this is the where the straight line mass shifts. This is important because it's generating the most amount of speed/power on this line so you have to really drive that line through the ball. Hence why I'm so sidewise when I hit those shots. I'm going to work on a visual and make a short on it. It should help explain how you should be thinking about your flips into the ball the what that timing window looks like.

Do you recommend square deadzone? I heard it is great for controlling flip cancels
@Grifflicious Жыл бұрын
I don't but that's to each their own honestly. Square has more of a KBM level of feel/control which is great for the 4 cardinal directions of inputs but it makes the finer, in between inputs a little more difficult to control. Naturally, this is something you can learn to control and compensate but I went down a deadzone/sense rabbit hole a couple months back and eventually came back to default (Cross) since it was the most well rounded.
@ripit.3457 Жыл бұрын
If you’re going for crazy clips in competitive, I’d highly recommend square deadzone. however, for the average player/ranked grinder I really wouldn’t recommend it.
