Sign me up! Incredibly difficult pieces? That too! Many obscure pieces that don’t promise me any easy fame and yet are still difficult, sure lets make sure people hear everything!” God: “No, no... you just pick ...*traum literally phases INTO existence* ... one”

This might be a weird compliment, but I love how you keep the "messiness" in your videos. Some people that make videos like yours clean up their playing and make it seem like their playing is perfect, which none truly is! I like how you keep it way more realistic and leave the notes we sometimes hit by accident, but don't make any audible difference.
@yorkzie75932 жыл бұрын

This piece made me picture a story of a captain and his ship's destruction from a thunderstorm. 0:00 - The captain and his crew struggle to prevent the ship from the waves' damage. With each wave, the boat progressively gets severe damage. 1:00 - Cut to the moment before the ship leaves the shore. All crew members have loaded up all necessary items and they help the captain begin sailing to sea. Hours pass by. The captain relaxes in his quarters. Most of the crew are also enjoying themselves, looking towards the empty sea, setting their sights on marine life. Everything seems going well for their journey. Until.. 3:30 - A crew member notices rain falling from the sky as a dark cloud raging in lightning and thunder approaches the ship's path. As it looms closer, more of the crew members aware of the storm and immediately inform their captain. 3:50 - The storm becomes even stronger and more destructive, leading back to 4:01 - the moment the crew continue to keep their ship alive. 4:13 - As the ship continues to fall apart, the captain orders the crew to give up and jump towards the ocean. Within minutes, the ship sinks, and all the members of the ship cling to remnants of the ship. The captain then demises over the loss of their ship and the sudden end of their journey. The End! (I hope you like my view on this piece! This is one of my favorites in Op. 25.)

Having a story in your head while playing is very very important. It makes your interpretation way better. As a pianist my strategy to learn and play a piece is always: 1. be able to play it slowly And now the most important step is the musical interpretation. Before I start with that I do it like you and try to create a story or dialogue. Now a great thing about that is that it is really your own interpretation.

It's because it's an octave etude. And the middle section they are also octaves but melodically and that's another challenge on the etude
@nilsragnar13472 жыл бұрын
Well the original tempo for the middle section is much faster than what Traum plays, and requires heavy legato which is also very difficult without flooding the pedal. So yes the middle section is more lyrical and "beautiful" but it is still also very much a technical exercise 😁
