Hello there- Thank you so much for all the wonderful information. I am currently an ASU student and I am enrolled in a HIV and Substance Abuse Prevention course. I would like to connect with you more about the topic of HIV/AIDS and substance abuse and how these correlate with one another. It would be nice to know what drew you to becoming a nurse and what do you love about it and what do you not love about it. Thank you and look forward to hearing from you.

Superb job, Sarah. One question if ok. I have done a fair bit of review of literature in genetics, primarily related to genetic editing. Making sure I understand; without CCR5 / CXCR4 gene influence, HIV can't enter the cell? (the doorway to the cell?)

Will HIV naturally progress over time even with antiretroviral therapy ? Or if caught early enough will a person stay in the acute phase? Thank you nurse...
@Mylife-yd9xq2 жыл бұрын
It will stay in acute stage actually I don't know why they call it acute stage because it kill all free roaming HIV cells and only leave the hiding or reservoir ones but antretroviral will put a bubble around those HIV cells left that they cant escape and cause anymore damage like keep them asleep and if some wake up and try producing HIV cells they cant escape and be stuck inside bubble from previous reservoir so that's why they say to take medication because if you stop taking medication the bubble will burst or fade away and release all those HIV cell.

Am I the only in the world that had a false positive HIV test twice and a positive for Chlamydia test (3x) but the only way that I could have gotten it was from the father of my kids. When I made him get tested he had already finished his antibiotic treatment therefore if he had it or not it was going to come back negative. Like I’m that unique to have a false positive hiv test and a false positive chlamydia. Then he asked me not to share it with anybody else.
