This is my thoughts on hiv and sex in the Philippines. First, I'll wait before having sex until I meet someone that I really think we have a connection with, and we decide to make a go of it. Second, before we have sex then I will request that both of us get tested for all types of Sexual diseases. And if she refuses, then I will tell her that I'm sorry, but this relationship can't move forward until then. I will be polite and try to explain why I think this way. I'm 61 years old now, and I want to be able to live a long and healthy life and enjoy my retirement, preferably with someone that I can appreciate and they can appreciate me to. This is a very important issue that needs to be brought into the open, and everyone needs to start discussing it. I understand the taboo and the embarrassment this can cause but better embarrassed than dead. Thank you for bringing this out in your videos. Maybe it can at least save a few lives. Take care, and God bless

Salamat Filipina Pea for bringing up this subject in the Philippines 🇵🇭. Im an nurse from the USA 🇺🇸 Cali. I do volunteer medical nurse missions in the Philippines 🇵🇭. I have seen some young Filipinas ladies women ages 16 - 20s . With so many babies kids children out of wedlock there in the Philippines 🇵🇭. Most young Filipinas ladies women dont like to use any kind of birth control contraception condoms. You see this in the squatters areas of the Philippines 🇵🇭. Foreigners expats guys men put that rubber on . If you dont ?? Make sure if your having casual hook up sex with an Filipina. Sexual diseases you can get HIV Aids herpes syphilis tuberculosis . These diseases are spreading in the Philippines 🇵🇭. Guys men protect yourself wear that rubber condom. Filipinas protect yourself also from unwanted pregnancy out of wedlock. Make sure you 100% protect yourself wear a rubber condom guys men. Because HIV Aids is no joking matter situation it can kill you. Lets be cautious & careful with our bodies when having sex with each other. Make it safe for him & her .

And yet, there were those there even poorer than they (recount from my folks), and this was not an issue.
@MoreTickle6 ай бұрын
@@tonyd1149Public healthcare is free in Italy, but public healthcare isn't free in the Philippines. So even though your parents were poor, they could afford to seek medical treatment, the average cost of an emergency room visit in the Philippines is ₱2,500 and while that's not a lot of money in my home country, it would be considered a lot of money for locals, especially the poor. What is possible in your country doesn't mean it's possible in another country, so how about you stop demonising poor people in other countries who can't afford the things that you and your family can afford in your country. Another serious and timely topic. Good for you Pea. As someone involved in hospital administration when HIV first surfaced, I have found it odd that even though HIV was an untreatable death sentence during that time, there was never a quarantine. Whereas with covid, and its 98+% recovery rate even for those untreated, quarantines were imposed to the point where we nearly shut down the world economy. As a result of this difference, 6-7 times more people have died from HIV than covid yet HIV was never labeled a pandemic. Had we done with HIV what we did with covid you would never have heard of HIV at this point as its primary carriers and modes of transmission were identified almost immediately. I would suggest at this point, anyone coming from the west and in particular your neighbors in places like Phuket, (yep, including the guys doing their Visa runs) at a minimum, get tested if not quarantined for some period. Anyone who tests positive should be denied entry. Yeah sorry, to hell with their "civil rights" which is what caused this massive problem in the first place. Sorry for the rant but I think it's a crime that so many people have died (45,000,000 to date ) when it could have been so easily avoided.

Hi Pea, this is definitely something that we've gone through as a society in the West. I still remember the early days when HIV was first discovered. There was certainly a lot of stigma here for a very long time. Fortunately we're now in a place where a positive diagnosis is not necessarily a death sentence however given the issues with poverty there in the Philippines it will be a lot harder to deal with. Condoms of course are a very sensible precaution and for those who are wanting to go around the bars they should probably seriously take a look at Prep - it can help prevent contracting HIV in the first place

Since 1996, I have abstained from sexual relations. During this period, I have been engaged twice. My first engagement, in 1996, was to a woman who was very much her father's daughter; she remains unmarried to this day. My second engagement, in 2008, was to a Filipina expatriate with two children residing with their father in Cavite. Unknown to me at the time, she was still legally married to him. Her divorce papers issued from the family court in San Francisco, California, are worthless. As a Christian, I am resolute in my decision to enjoy sexual activity within the bounds of marriage.

This epidemic needs to be contained. I once knew a midwife from South Africa in the 1990's, and around 50% of pregnant women in the area she had worked in were HIV positive. Thankfully with anti HIV medication, transmission to the babies was low. Earlier, in the 1980's there were no anti HIV medications, and in Uganda, around half of young adults died in some area leaving grandparents looking after all the children. Now, medication is available, but prevention is better than cure, and knowing your status if at risk can make the difference between treatment with a relatively normal life, or an untimely death.

In the states, if an HIV+ person has unprotected sex with a clean person and the infected person knows their status, they can be charged with attempted murder, especially if the clean person becomes HIV+. There are laws against doing that to people.

On my first trip to Angeles, I was shocked that every girl that I found myself with either insisted on me not wearing a condom (One said that she was allergic to them) or at best, didn't insist on me wearing one. I was in my mid twenties then. It was as though they didn't think that I could be a risk. STDs must be everywhere there....

@tuliocamacho65996 ай бұрын
@@mobilegameplaywalkthroughs990 It reminds me some urban legends from my hometown, during my childhood, somewhere in Latin America, during early 90's. Anyway, it's always good to be aware about the dangers that we can face on the streets.

I have HIV and got diagnosed 7 months ago here in the US. It was devastating because i got TB aswell. When i was admitted to the ICU i was ready to die because i dont wanna be judged especially my family. But when my family knew I really dont know what to say but they supported me all the way till they get my immune system up. When I got home and take the meds and all that I still feel depressed because of thinking what would my future be? Im really grateful of my family and my doctors to check me everytime especially my mental health because its really tough. But now im just being optimistic and all my blood work were normal now immune system is gradually going up. If you think you have HIV dont forget to get tested/diagnosed. Dont worry about other people think of u. Its hard at first but it will change your life going forward I promise. HIV is not a death sentence no more. Thank you for reading.

Curious why you do not show the courtesy of a nice introduction to your guests rather than just saying introduce yourself. My TV host wife has a formula for this: a) Introduce the topic, b) explain why the viewer should be interested in it, and c) why is the guest qualified to speak or give advice on it. Hope you accept this as positive input rather than criticism.

It is a shame that a wonderful welcoming country as the Philippines has this issue running rampant because it's own people don't want to get tested and find out or use condoms to help protect themselves. Such a wonderful place to visit but the disease came into the country from the outside world because some guy or gal couldn't keep their pants up. If it's a vacation you are after it is still a wonderful place to visit, if it's a sexcation you are after, well you get what you deserve if you won't protect yourself and those you have relations with.
