So by the end of the Shadow keep DLC you have to kill the total of 5 of oryx's is family, you've killed crota, two of crota's children, one in the strike one when geting the cryptoglyph, nokris in the Mars DLC, (doesn't really count tho) and then you've killed the eye of savathun, which is actually one of crota sisters if I remember correctly, and then you killed oryx himself

Interesting things from personal experience. 1. You can get past the barrier where Crota spawns without dreambane armor if you use ballistic slam on yeet titan. I don’t know what else works. 2. Using Thundercrash, heavy weapons, and grenades, I managed to get the first nightmare of Crota down to around half health. I’d love to see someone try to kill it with a full team.
