Thanks a lot! Much appreciated, and yes it’s only motion, there isn’t a way to record 24/7 with this, you do also have sound detection too :)

I have both HomeShield and ring alarms. One major failing of HomeShield that even traditional dumb alarms have is power backup. Yeah there’s one in the siren bell box but the hive hub that controls it doesn’t and that makes it useless. Ring base station has power backup and 3G sim so you never loose connection or power. Had a power blackout in my area only this weekend so it does happen. Also if your consumer unit breaker trips your in the same situation. The next generation ring base station also come with an inbuilt router that maintains internet connection in the event of a power cut. I like HomeShield but they need improve their hub, alternatively offer a power pack to keep it alive during blackout.

Thanks a lot for the compliment :) I've tried quite a few cheaper security cameras that were 1080p and these were not near as good as the Hive cameras. I think these perform really well in daylight and light conditions. The night vision could be a little bit clearer for sure but with the siren flood light it makes my front house camera a lot clearer , but would be sweet if Hive release a 2K camera in the future. Overall i'd say these really do a good job if i ever had to pass on footage to the police for example i'd have no worries of the quality. Cameras look great! Would worry with the app and phone controlled locks and stuff having some kind of back door hack 😅 but sure it's all good! Nice video showing all the features and functionality 👍

Thanks a lot! I suppose this is a worry with a lot of smart tech now a days! In terms of the Hive app you can setup 2FA and pin locks so its fully locked down which is good.

Definitely is a shock! The security side of things must have really not taken off as Hive would have hoped. I thought they would have been at least releasing a new set of security products after these will be discontinued. You never know though a lot can change in 3 years time they might be able to sort something out! Well we can hope :)

Hive has just announced its stopping support for its camaras plus closing the app so these will no longer work. No amused! Only just bought my hive view indoor camara a few months ago.

Hi, I know , i must say i am very surprised, it sounds like it is a purely business decision , maybe the security side of things hadn't taken off how they had hoped. Hopefully your Hive kit is the newer gen so at least you have 3 years more use out of them!
