Hive Mini Smart Thermostat - Full Review

Watching this as got hive last year worked perfect..haven't really used it since march as its been warm enough. Had it on last week once boost worked grand but tried to put on yesterday the hive was saying on and temp going off but the radiators weren't on, any ideas what could be at fault? Cheers in advance

The thermostat may have disconnected from your boiler, I would advise a reset. However what temp was the thermostat showing? Your home may have been at the desired temperature set so no need for radiators to be on. Could also be an issue with your boiler, it may not be functioning hence the radiators not getting warm.

With the mini to use with the homekit apple do i need to buy a hub or it connects automatically to the homekit

Do need the hub sadly to get the system online, can only be used with the stat itself without the hub

Why does it need to know the weather, you spec the temperature you want at the thermostat and it switches the heating on until it reaches that. The outside temperature should not matter?

Weather Compensation is its own mode where you wouldn't have a programme set or the boiler in manual mode. It creates its own heat curve based on the expected weather. I much prefer just being in manual mode all the time or the occasional programme but i can see the appeal for others
