Man the queen looks fantastic. Though I do prefer alien for its suspense and over all visuals aliens was able to bring it up a level and the queen is a master piece of visual effects and puppetry

Oh man my grandmother, a devout Roman Catholic, took away my Alien action figure from Kenner released in the late 70's because it was the Devil according to her. In the early 90's I was looking for something like this. Well...it's never too late to start a collection.

I bet the paint and top coat the use on the figure probably makes those ball joints a tighter fit than originally designed. Im probably wrong and dont try this but since they are so bendable rubber/plastic would putting them in really cold water stiffen them up enough to make it easier to put them in the socket or would that make them more fragile?

Great review Michael. I think that the engineering on the Hiya Queen is somewhat similar to the larger NECA one in both a positive and negative way. The NECA one has the exact same issue with the back spikes and it even looks like it uses the same ball pegs to hold them in place. What I'm really liking about these HIYA versions is the fact that you don't lose out on details even with the smaller scale. The translucent eggs are brilliant 🏆

awesome review . yeah those back spines on the queen are a fiddly to say the least , I heated my queens back up with a hairdyer to push them in. there is a really cool green warrior I think is a GS exclusive which looks awesome , I didn't get the egg sets but I think I may rethink that. the first ever aliens figures hiya made came with a egg so I wonder if they reused the same scuplt the aliens colonial marines game one had them the warrior ,drone, spitter and boiler .sadly those go for crazy money now specially spitter and boiler

Welp, after years of collecting NECA figures, I'm switching to HIYA toys, they may be smaller, but sculpt is beautiful, accurate, and the articulation is TIGHT!

@@MichaelMercy yeah I recently got Robocop from Hiya, cause the Robo I got from NECA Broke after one fall off the shelf. HIYA Robo hasn't fallen even once because of the stand and he's lighter so he's not in danger of it. next is queen and eggs then warriors!

I went crazy with these and then bought the very expensive Hot Toys "Snap Kits" 3.75" Aliens figures to go with it. All-new and sealed. And upon arrival proceeded to break three of those f'n things almost immediately upon assembly (including the SINGLE Ripley you get in a set). Hundreds of dollars in Snap Kits to go with my Hiya Toys Aliens stuff. Never been so disgusted with myself in this hobby before in my life.... lmao!

Huh didn't know there was a McFarlane queen. I got one as a kid from the say 90's toy line on clearance at a Payless and she was one of my fav toys lol! she had a hip button to swing the tail and a soft head at the back that you squeeze to make the little mouth come out. Those eggs and face huggers look amazing! I will have to get some of those for sure. Those alien warriors are pretty amazing also and it was funny when you called it cute lol. I just bought my first predator and he looks great but the articulation is very limited and he seems very delicate.

Unless someone pointed it out already the blue alien is a "Crouching" alien so you can position it in a crouching mode unlike the non crouching ones which are just Alien Warrior or Alien Warrior (Brown) which I think are meant for standing, and Crouching Alien Warrior for crouch poses.
