I have been using RPHA 11 helmet as my daily helmet for past 6-7 months and I am very very pleased with it. Ventilation is great!! Compared to my previous helmet, TR-1 also from HJC, you can really feel that wind when it comes in, especially on the top vents. The only not so great thing about this helmet is that it fogs up easily. It is solved with pinlock insert that they provide, but it was a bit too much effort when switching from clear to tinted visor and back to switch pinlock insert as well. Though, I have just ordered mirrored visor with an extra pinlock insert in clear, so I'll have one insert in mirrored visor and one in clear visor so that I can change between them if I get caught riding in dark. I'd give this helmet 9/10 and would definitely buy it again. And I probably will in few years time, either RPHA 11 again or its successor. Not only because I like HJC products, but because their helmets are the only ones that I have tried that fit me nicely.

@@Championhelmets when I was not that into bikes jet I have used Airoh helmet, looks very much like their Hunter model, but it wasn't exactly that one. It was good and comfortable, but visor was way too close to the face and I couldn't pull it fully down + it was fogging all the time as I was breathing. Then I started thinking about getting onto larger bike and I wanted to better protect myself. I got HJC TR-1, around a time when they were discontinued so I got quite a good deal on it. It was great helmet, though with hindsight I would have gone for a size smaller since through usage it got quite loose on my face. It was a great helmet, drop-down sun visor was a nice feature, but it wasn't well ventilated and it was quite a hot ride in the summer. Then I finally got my A license and went shopping for new helmet. I tried few of Arain, Shoei, Suomy and Xlite models, but they never felt good for me. Some were too tight at the front, while others were too tight on the cheeks and forehead. Then I went to try HJC and I liked how RPHA 11 looked so I tried it and this time XL size was as if made for me. It was tight on cheeks and comfortable around the top of my head and at the chin. Now after about 6-7 months of use it is even more comfortable, but more importantly it still keeps tight around my face. It is a loud ride though, I would probably go on to say too loud, but I started using ear plugs on my rides even before I got it so that problem is mostly negated. One thing I would definitely change though is that I would buy a design in glossy finish instead of my matte finish as cleaning it is quite a chore if you don't want to ruin it. Just to let you know which design I have, it is "Epik Trip MC1" in black and orange with huge "R" logo on the sides.

@@Championhelmets Hi, I have a question. Have you tested RPHA 11 helmet like you do some others where you measure temperature, sound levels etc. while riding? @@92Cuky_ Thanks for the question! Unfortunately, we have only managed to take the RPHA 11 on a preliminary test, which we haven't been able to publish yet, and we're trying to hold out a bit longer until we can get our hands on the RPHA 11 Carbon. Nonetheless, we do have some preliminary numbers. The ventilation in the helmet was very good, since it was only 1 degree hotter when we took it out. For noise, since it is a race helmet, it was above the 100 decibel mark, since they're rarely designed with noise isolation in mind. It also did very well for weight and material, since it is a very lightweight helmet weighing under 1400 grams. We do still hope to take the helmet out, especially to make these preliminary numbers more definitive

@@Championhelmets I do like it, it's a good fit, I can also wear my glasses in the helmet wich is not possible in a shark helmet (the one I tried). The many design options makes it also interesting. The best part is that it's super light. The only negative is the anti condensing part doesn't really work in my helmet when I'm walking it gets condensation if the screen is closed and I think it isn't supposed to happen.

So is the only difference between a racing helmet and a sports/touring just noise reduction and an internal visor? I just bought this helmet yesterday for day to day use. It was Aud70 cheaper than the rpha70. I used it today with ear protection and i found it very comfortable and my field of vision is excellent. If it stops my head cracking open like an egg, what does it matter if its a racing or sports or touring helmet?
@Championhelmets
@Championhelmets 5 жыл бұрын
The noise isolation and internal visor are a major difference between sports helmets and sports/touring helmets, since sports/touring helmets often include a syb visor and work to have a higher noise isolation. But there are a few differences since a sports/touring helmet is designed to be used in a more upright position, which'll impact ventilation placement, whereas a racing helmet is often designed for a rider in a tuck. So, in a nutshell, racing helmets focus more on ventilation and performance for a tucked position while a sports/touring helmet focuses on comfort and noise isolation in an upright position. Thanks for the question, how're you finding your RPHA 11?

Nice Review! HJC RPHA 11 series is a bit more noisy (wind noise only) than AGV K3 SV series or K1 series.

Thanks for the feedback and for sharing how you found the helmet! Hi Anrija, for touring the RPHA 70 will still be the best. It was among one of the quietest helmets that we've road tested to date and comes with an integrated sun visor (you can see how it performed here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWLTZZ6EgpJpeck). However, if you're still feeling the graphics of the RPHA 11, then it's still also an excellent helmet. What drew you to these two helmets?

Would this helmet be ok for sport touring?
@Championhelmets
@Championhelmets 5 жыл бұрын
Yes it would be good, but it is more tailored to racing. The RPHA70 is specifically made for sport touring, and we did a road test comparing 4 Sport-Touring helmets: Shoei GT Air 2, Shark Spartan Carbon, Arai Profile-V and the HJC RPHA70. The big surprise was that the HJC RPHA70 ourperformed the other brands on almost any criterium (noise, ventilation, liner, shell). It really was a great helmet and is more affordable than the HJC RPHA11. Nonetheless the RPHA11 is a great helmet and would definitely serve well as a sport touring helmet if you don't mind missing an internal sunvisor. I hope this helps. What is it about the RPHA11 that you like the most?

Champion Helmets I did find the Shoei NXR/RF-1200 for the same price as the RPHA 11 so I might just stay with Shoei. The NXR is quieter, smaller, maybe not as ventilated. But still, it’s a fit I know and a brand I trust. What do you think?

My head is 57cm long oval which puts me in between S-M..I've been in store to try M and also S..While M fits me perfectly from get go, salesman suggests me S size because of the iner lining stretch over time..Thing is I literally struggle to put S size on my head, I've have use my both hands to force it down on my head, is this normal or should I go with M size? Any suggestions would help
@Championhelmets
@Championhelmets 5 жыл бұрын
While the salesman is correct that the lining will stretch over time only you know how the helmet actually feels on your head. I would recommend wearing both helmets for a few minutes and seeing how they feel. For the small it is important that it doesn't press on your head or give you a headache. For the medium make sure it is actually providing a snug fit and isn't loose enough to rotate on your head. Please let us know if you have any other questions and remember we will price match any price you find.

Hows the sizing compared to AGV K3sv?
@Championhelmets
@Championhelmets 3 жыл бұрын
Compared to the K3SV, the RPHA 11 will be narrower and will sit at the intermediate oval mark. The K3 SV is closer to a round oval fitment. As far as sizing, riders have generally found both to run small. Either way, the best way to make sure that a helmet fits is to try it on at a local store since fitment can vary widely from person to person. Thanks for the question! What are your thoughts on the HJC helmet?
