@@MDpolo I of course do have a USP 45 and a USP 40 cal police trade in, however the mk23 is my favorite.

LOL, all the comments about how "impractical" the Mark 23 is...well, it was never designed to be a defensive weapon, but rather an offensive one. That is the salient point that seems to have been completely forgotten. More modern firearms are centered around reactionary mindsets, namely defense. The Mark 23 was meant to be in the hands of a threat: a tool of the hunter, not the hunted. What good is a carry weapon if your assailant gets the drop on you? Who cares about what your gun is supposed to do, whether out of the box or after mods, if it's unreliable and poorly made? Who cares about high capacity if you can't hit your target under duress? Much of the more modern builds might be ergonomically streamlined, but newer doesn't mean better; the 23 has a continued legacy for a reason, and would still very much function as an effective tool in times of need. It set a standard that might have had elements improved upon, but never wholly surpassed. You'd be hard pressed to find something more resilient and robust. Calling an offensive-geared firearm "impractical" because it doesn't meet today's standards that gun owners are looking for in a defensive carry or home protection pistol, is an argument so unintelligent that those who make such statements probably shouldn't own a gun in the first place. Use the right tool for the job.

Always wanted to add a Mk 23 to my collection, but the $2k+ price has been hard to justify. Love my HK 45 though.

I sure would like the HK45 because the grip appears to be a lot like the VP9 which I really like. I keep hearing that the HK45C is the way to go..... talk about dilemma! Thanks and Blessings!

I own a 45C. It's an amazing pistol. Also more versatile compared to the full size. I would reccomend. Cant go wrong though.

@mikey5848 The HK45 Compact was my first HK45 variant, If I'd gotten the HK45 first, I'd skipped it. It's not that versatile... it's so close to the size of my HK45 that it's not worth losing two rounds of capacity over, 8 vs 10 is kinda huge. Oh, it can have the hideous-looking 10 round elephant foot mags, but congratulations, the grip is now a fourth of an inch longer than the full-size HK45 with none of the benefits of a full-size grip. And heaven forbid you want a tactical light for that awful truncated accessory rail on the HK45C. Unless someone has an issue with the FS HK45 trigger pinching their finger with the trigger groove, go HK45 Compact. To each their own... glad you like your 45C.

@@MrSmith-zy2bp Interesting, I figured it has to be more concealable than the full size, no? I have a TLR 7 sub and fits nice. Also live in a state where capacity is an issue. Maybe when I move I'll buy a full size haha

@mikey5848 They're both big guns. It trims a bit off the grip with 8 round mags... but then again... 10 rounds is already kinda low capacity for my comfort. I'd carry the full-size for 10 plus 1 as long as I could conceal it. It also begs the question, would a smaller 9mm with 10 capcatiy give more advantages vs the bigger HK45 Compact with 8 rounds?

I have an Hk Mark 23 ، a P30 and USP Expert 9mm I love them all but Expert is my favourite and my bedside arm Mark 23 is too big and not a practical weapon but have historical value P 30 is a good choice for cc

@@MDpolo when Chambering a round either from slide lock or slide forward at times the bullet will catch on the feed ramp. Mine auto forwards which as you know some pistols do, twice mine jammed when it did and needed to rip the magazine out I looked at the bullet and the bullet was pushed in casing . I noticed the same problem catching on ramp on 2 KZbin channels reviewing the PDP . If it continues I will send it back for repair, happens with both mags not sure if magazine or gun I was using FMJ ammo . WORK THE TRIGGER Channel on yt made a interesting video on a possible breakage when using a red dot that's something I'm not Familiar with. One thing I don't like which isn't the guns fault the placement of the slide lock I ride the slide lock with my thumps forward grip so it doesn't lock open on last round. I do like the monster tire Serrations on slide and the texture on the grip . Thanks

Seems like a nice pistol but to dam big and bulky , hard to carry. Hk should modernize their design. I think Hk quality is good.

They have the HK 45 compact they also have the USP compact. So they do have choices if you want something smaller in a similar platform. Thank you very much for watching.
