Thanks for info on this rifle. I have an A1 and mulling over an A4. The old want vs need. That said, having always stuck with high-end firearms has been positive for me. For the few I’ve sold, I’ve always gotten good money for them.

Are all MR556s this accurate?
@HKShootingwithDerekG29 күн бұрын
@@martinmartell2252 I’ve had them and used them hard since they first came out in approximately 2010. Every MR556 I’ve had including many upper kits has been this accurate or more. The original blow pig MRs with the heavy contour barrel produced ridiculously small groups that really only matter to a precision shooter or bench guy as this barrel on the A4 is precise and importantly a usable weight.

I hope not, a 4 shot 1” group with match ammo & a bench is pretty mediocre.

Hi. Might you know if the stock from the A4 fits the A1 buffer tube? I’ve read some conflicting info on the topic. I did buy an A4 with the 16.5” barrel (comes Thursday). I have a few SBRs so not waiting for the 11” version. Enjoying your content on the rifle.

yes, it will fit. Both use a mil spec buffer tube

Can any other charging handle be dropped in? That thing looks huge
@HKShootingwithDerekG28 күн бұрын
Absolutely.....put your favorite in there and you are good to go! It is not a proprietary charging handle.
@HKShootingwithDerekG28 күн бұрын
Oh, and I agree...it is a little large and I plan to add a smaller handle just to reduce snag chances when using it for 5/10k run and gun biathlons

The only problem I have is that it's not easily converted for any AR trigger or full auto
@HKShootingwithDerekG28 күн бұрын
@@tsim4139 the MR556 takes many triggers….just be sure m16 tall hammer…..these aren’t intended to be auto rifles as commercial market products

No chrome needed, which is why the 416 has a chrome barrel. Got it.
@HKShootingwithDerekG28 күн бұрын
here we go! The 416 is chromed for mil use....very few commercial "operators" will be taking their MR556s through salt marshes, mud, and more while then going long periods without cleaning from harsh conditions or corrosive ammo.....the good news is for the chrome domers out there is..... lots of other uppers available for various manufacturers that have the "chrome" they need!

@@HKShootingwithDerekG Yes, the mr556 is not a hard use gun, i'm aware of that.
@dansmajd410528 күн бұрын
@@HKShootingwithDerekG plus it's not about salt. it's about rapid heating and cooling cycles, to which nitriding is just less tolerant. chrome is very hard to kill with heat.

@@HKShootingwithDerekG I don't mean to hate! I just don't see the value in a $4k gun that will not last as long. warranty is nice, but i can get 2 SR15 uppers for that, both of which will not die until the 40k round mark.
