Good vid. Da/sa is often overlooked. I wish there were more options on the market for subs. Da is a great safety! I bet most of the vids where somebody shoots themself in the leg while holstering is a striker fired pistol.

agree!!! that hammer and heavy first pull is the best safety in my opinion. I do carry a Sig 365XL quite a bit - but I opted for the version w the safety. don't want a fully loaded striker fire pointed at my junk w/ no safety!!!! THANK YOU for watching!!

@@TheArkansasGunGuy I want to know instantly if my gun is cocked. Hammer fired. Some striker fired are better than others but still not the same as seeing that hammer pulled back. My p30sk has the manual safety. Essential for cocked and locked. Otherwise, they don’t make use the safety, doo they?

Honestly it’s the best edc subcompact that doesn’t get its flowers. it’s safe to carry cocked and locked, 15round manufactured mags, 1913 rail ! the only drawback is it’s width but it’s better than anything on the market. In my opinion HK did it best years ago with this subcompact

​@920WASHBURN I have the ppq m2 and the p30sk v3 with safety and while I love my ppq trigger, the p30sk feels more premium. They're both better built than my glock 30s which is a wonderful gun in its own right

I see the width as a benefit as it adds more stability to an already short slide. Gives the hands more to grab onto. The extra weight makes it a flat shooter. Any thinner and we would be complaining about how flippy the muzzle is.

Hello to you again, Wow, beast you say yes. I was in my local gun store today and this firearm was there. I was shocked at the feel, (3) mags and all (3) pairs of back straps, case ect. A beautiful subcompact for sure, for a fair use price I believe. The problem I have is I want them all, 🤣 As we spoke before I already have a (40) Beretta with a decocker / safety, don’t think I want two, but who knows, I left it behind for now. Great gun I would say. Be well

Love mine I have it in LEM. Little bit of a learning curve but once you get used to it, shoots great. I ordered some of the 15 round magazines for it which basically turns the grip into a full size p30 grip. You can get the spring kits separately for the magazines and add an extra 2 rounds to any of them with just a new floor plate and follower. Great video!

For me, this is the perfect carry gun. I have the V3 with no manual safety. I've shot a lot of the micro-9s and really don't like them. This is so well engineered, reliable, and has magnificently ergonomic controls.

I had the hk 45c lem. Couldn’t stand the lem and sold the gun. Added gray gun short reset and flat trigger to my p30sk. Not cheap but big improvement. Nice vid.

Couldn't agree with you more. The German engineering is second to none. Walther engineering is also superb. Those pistols are amazing. My husband and I have a small collection of HK pistols. Can't wait until the subcompact gets released, maybe in 2024 ? Thanks for sharing your video 🙏

HK SFP9CC 2nd quarter 2025. Look to securing one around May. If you wait for reviews, they will likely be on wait list or grossly inflated. IMO, don't wait. HK doesn't release anything half-cocked. How the new trigger plays out is really going to be the key I think.

I have the P30 LEM (not SK or L). It is now my favorite carry gun. The long trigger pull and reset doesn't lend itself to long range pinpoint shooting (at least in my case). I just Langdon Tactical put in the light trigger with short reset and OMG! To me it is now the perfect carry pistol!

I tried and tried the LEM on my P30L and could just never shoot it accurately. Traded for another P30L DA/SA that I shot accurately right out of the box.

@@TheArkansasGunGuy Yeah I was the same way. For my taste the LEM is great for carrying and at normal defense distances I did ok. But I personally didn't do so well at more distant targets. After Langdon dis their thing it is a lot better. Went with Langdon because Grayguns and Lazy Wolf wait times were around 12 weeks

My mother shot my full size P30s V3 9mm 17rd she didn’t want the whole 17rd so I load it up to 10/12 she loved it and now she wants an H&K probably will get her a VP9SK

The more u shoot the lem trigger u will get to love it. I have p30 in v1 , an sk and an l and a v3 in p30l. I like this gun as much as my czs also . Good luck to you.

I just bought one of these because it feels better in the hand than any sub compact and yet it feels like your shooting a full size w the extension mag and it soaks up a lot of the recoil for a gun w a 3.2 inch barrel. I bought it barely used for $495 and couldn’t be happier.

Paddle release no chance of accidental mag release being pushed while carrying . Might not seem like a feature but it is especially when carrying all day . I had a ruger sr45 came home one night and went to clear it and mag was released but still in . If I needed that it would have been bad way to start . The pistol had an ambit button release with a very light spring that a simple push against the body while carrying it could release the mag . For example like putting on or taking off seatbelt .

Very good video, and I agree with you about not understanding why the P30SK doesn’t get more love, unless it’s just a price thing. The same model as you show, with DA/SA mechanism, decocker and 13-rd magazine is my edc gun, replacing a CZ P-01 a couple years ago and I couldn’t be happier with it. Don’t know what it is about it, but for some reason it’s faster and more accurate for me than the CZ or Glocks either one. I ran the “Dicken Drill” that everyone seems to be doing lately, and was more than four seconds faster with the P30SK than with the P-01. I bought tritium sights as an 'upgrade' for it, but it's so good as-is that I still haven't installed them yet. It's admittedly expensive, but I’ve been carrying for nearly 40 years and other than price the P30SK is the best edc gun I’ve ever had. Love the stupid thing. And fwiw, hello from another 'Arkansas gun guy'. We’re in Cleburne county, about the prettiest place on the planet. 👍

I just purchased one. The da/sa v3 is perfect for me and the ergonomics are what sold me. My sig365xl was great but would just be difficult for me to manipulate for my hand size. The p30sk feels like an extension of my hand. Way better that my 26

Thanks for this video. I've decided to go with this model w/1-15 round and 2-12round mags. I amost ordered the SKS, however, the holsters available are extremely limited trying to accomodate the safety lever. I usually carry my Beretta PX4 Storm sub and learned that I almost never use the safety anyway.

@@TheArkansasGunGuy The Storm sub I carry is a bit unique...a two tone model which was a Cabella special for a very short time (which is why I wanted to save mine from too much use). It was discontinued while I waited to purchase another one. Then I waited too long to purchase the all black model and they have totally disappeared too. This is what put me back in the market for a quality, reliable carry pistol similar to the Storm sub features, of which the HK P30 SK checks all the boxes for me...and then some. Their grip thicknesses are almost identicle with the double stack, which could turn off some. I'm used to it. Thanks again for the video...

Just bought DA/SA today. Can't wait to shoot. Boy I'd love this hammer -fired gem in pure single stack. I'm sure I'll never see it! Note weird directions on p33 about "reapplying lubricant periodically"...during firing! Never read that in a manual. Any thoughts or disregard? Mine came with two mags and illum sites. I read that only an "hk certified technician" should adjust (or change, I assume) sites. Where do we find one of those? Thx. Good vid.

I didn’t even notice that comment about lubrication. I clean mine after every shooting so never paid it any mind. Had always worked perfectly. The V1 and V3 is basically the same trigger. I don't understand how some can shoot one and not the other especially after the first pull.

So let me get this straight, insert the mag, rack the slide, then its in DA? After the first shot, it switches to SA? So what’s the decocker for if its already in DA to start? Or can you rack the slide, then cock the hammer for SA with safety on. Then decock if you choose to go back to DA. I think I just answered my own question lol. Pretty cool

Great question and THANKS for watching!! I may have said it wrong in the video - but you can insert mag, then rack the slide to get one in the chamber. After that you have two options - you can carry cocked and locked(single action), or what I prefer is to de-cock it and then it back to double action for the first shot- tuen every shot after is SA.

Bought a HK P30 a few months ago. It seems nice to carry but looking into the p30SK for conceal carry. I wanna keep the P30 for home and conceal carry with the little brother P30SK. Will the magazines from the P30 fir into the P30SK? Or would I need a pinky tip extension to do so?

P30 mags will fire in the P30sk - there is even a little sleeve available to make it look better if you use it. I can't find the link right now, but if you look through my videos I did a short clip on just that - GREAT question. All the P30s and VP9's will fire interchangeably . THANK YOU for watching!!

HK is currently selling P30s and VP9s with flush fit 17-round magazines. They have OEM kits to convert old magazines for $15. For the subcompact models, they have flush fit or pinky extension magazines that hold 12 rounds. They have 13 and 15 round magazines for the subcompacts, but they are not flush and have a collar. The LEM trigger has a poor choice in name but is a joy to operate. Think of it as a two stage trigger. A minimal resistance take-up until it hits the wall and then an additional 2 pounds more to fire. The VP family has a very decent striker firing trigger but not as good as the LEM. They really are not the same at all, but both are easy to operate.

Manufacturers are going smaller But with high capacity because that’s what the market demands. that gun is bigger than a Glock 26. And for years people on KZbin have called out HK for not including one high-capacity magazines for their subcompact firearms, like so many others do. now HK include the 13 round magazine with the 10. and for years H Kay’s customer service sucks. that’s why people don’t make a lot of videos about their products but it looks like HK is finally getting the message

Does the G26 come with a 13 round or higher capacity mag? Did it ever? The G26 is an outlier and is a striker. The S&W M&P 1.0 & 2.0 subcompact (sc), Springfield Mod 2 sc, Sig P320 sc, Beretta APX sc, CZ P10S, Taurus G3c,, so on and so forth are around the same size as the P30sk.

There are a lot of videos about the P30 and its became popular again because of John Wick, but I don't believe it ever became extremely popular because of it's price point early on. Now that the price has come done to the $650 mark, everyone wants striker micro pistols. Oh and back in the day, 10 rounds was perfectly acceptable for a subcompact double stack.

I’d kill (figure of speech, trolls…😉) if H&K would bring back the P7 squeeze-cocker, M13-I sold an M8, years ago, when HK announced the M13-and then did a 40% across the board price hike, just ahead of my M13 purchase-over $1000, in 1980’s money😖😔. That M8 was a helluva shooter; IF you can find one now, asking price tends to be over $4.🙀

Yes, not a fan of the VP9... Just another polymer striker-fired pistol. I prefer DA/SA, and the VP9 will never have the character and pride of ownership that the P30, USP, P2000, etc have.

The gun is overpriced and it offers nothing more than the rest of them. In fact, it offers less. That's probably why people don't talk about it. But not to worry, HK Will be releasing a micro 9. Later this year, i've seen it on TFBTV.
