I carried this exact pistol on duty for decades. I traded in my full size for the compact when I went to a plain clothes detail. It was just retired with me in a presentation box. Trusted my life to it for years....and years.

This is my favorite carry pistol and has been since my time in the military. There's a reason it's picked by operators. Fantastic pistol. Tough as nails. I carry a .357 snub (fairly heavy but not as bad as full sized sig 1911 but a bit heavy carry with both. Just like the reliability and stopping power) I pack mine with +P PS: FYI they do have 20 round mag extended mag it's out of stock at HK Parts but you can find them if you look, fun backup mag if needed. Also fun for the range! You can also carry 10 rounders and +2-5 extensions so capacity is truly not an issue.

Sweet! I already have the "newer" version of the HK's such as; the HK P30sk, HKP30, HK VP9 and the HK 45C. I definitely plan to add both the USP Compact 9mm and this USP Compact .45 ACP to my HK family as well.

Take a look at the extended magazine release. It works reliably and speeds up my reloads. Also think about installing the match trigger pack, you won't be able to install the overtravel screw in the compact ( imo the screw isn't a good idea for self defense), but it will still greatly improve the trigger, especially in single action. And It's still reliably strikes the primer. For backup mags, I would consider purchasing a HK45 magazine - it gives you two extra mags and is easier to grab quickly than the shorter compact mag. Nice video and I agree that it is easy to carry big guns

Factory full size 45 mags are steel as well. You'll love the compact. It's nearly as accurate as the full size.

I wanted to get one, i got an alien gear for my SW Shield performance center but it was kinda scratching up the top of it. I'm wary of kydex without any leather or suede padding. How has yours carried? I also am thinking of trying shoulder holster....that said I found a Galco leather shoulder holster for this for $160 and my p30sk would fit in it so....i dunno haha....money is an issue which is why Alien Gear is so awesome.

FYI mine is over 20 years old now (made in '99) and is almost like-new still, my HK P30SK has more wear n tear, which ain't much anyway. HK is absolutely my favorite pistol with SIG as a close second.

FYI that is the exact sig I want (maaaybe a P228 or p229 navy), fucking great gun. I had a P2000 LEM and P226 DAK (which isn't completely terrible, but LEM kicked its ass) and i should have just converted that damn 226 over to DA/SA but anyway...I like the Navy versions since they coat their inner parts. HK just does it anyway. PS: The HK P7 M8 might be the best damned 9mm carry ive ever seen, m13 as well. I'm looking for a W. German one but my goodness...you should get one if you can.

I agree with you totally on the full size carry. I carry a Colt 1911 with a light on it all the time as well. I have a custom holster for it....I agree the "right" system it's no issue at all.

I know the USP 45 is noticeably bulkier than the USP 9, but the 45 compact seems about the same size as the compact 9?

if you look around you can find one for under $700 for sure. I got mine for 650 with 3 mags it was made in 1999 and almost like-new and never had a malfunction. Look at potential police trade-ins as well! Good luck mate.

Fullsize USP's in 9 & .40 have polymer mags, in 45 they are metal. All USP Compacts have metal mags. FYI Beautiful Pistol man!
