I recommend trying out the cover of Tori no Uta by Chihaya Kisaragi, then try to look up the opening of Saikano and Gunslinger Girls 2nd season. You might also want to look up songs by Hiroyuki Sawano and MYTH & ROID While i agree that anime songs have fallen into somewhat of a "similar" style, doesnt mean there arent unique, absolute bangers out there. You just have to hand pick them

well i can give a short summary from my memories so don't read on if you don't want to be spoiled: There's flaws in the story but in general the premise is back in the medieval or olden times like edo period or something, the main protagonist dude was a guy who looks after and watches over the girl. He was like her guardian and bodyguard of sorts. The girl was locked away and as she was a different being with wings basically. I don't think it was explored much but essentially she was forbidden to leave her area and her mother was held elsewhere. The guy and another nice woman decided to help her go see her mother. Unfortunately they were caught up, by the authority, the guy was unable to defend her and she had a curse placed on her and killed, that curse is really cruel basically whenever she reincarnates, if she ever finds love (doesn't matter if it's platonic or romantic, as long as it's strong love, like a love between family members which is platonic or love with a partner romantically) she will die and the cycle will continue. As somewhat probably a mechanism or something whenever she gets close to someone it's almost like a survival trigger where she will cry and become extremely upset to stop her getting to close to the person otherwise she'll die. But if she ignores and manages to overcome the crying and whatever is making her sad, the moment she feels and embraces all of the love she will die. The guy ends up marrying the other nice woman who they would try their best to find a way to stop the curse placed upon the poor girl. For generations they have failed and the main protagonist is a descendent and may have been a reincarnation of the original guy and also why he has some magic tricks as a result. Then if i am correct, the girl who is the reincarnation of the cursed winged girl, she falls in love with the dude. He also realises his role and desperately wants to save her but fails. This next part is where it's very confusing, either he somehow managed to turn time back before she met him as she no longer remembers him when he turns into a crow or he temporarily succeeds in saving her life but at the cost of her memories which she becomes kind of dead inside and forgotten a lot of things, he himself turns into a crow and also loses a large portion of his memories where he doesn't even know why he continues to be there and watching over the girl. At this point the girl's mother (in reality she is her aunt) who may have been seen cold but deep down always cared about her. She has a change of heart and decides to fully embrace looking after her all and all especially after seeing how empty she was and how she was like cripple thus needing the wheel chair. Then the rest of it is seeing the emotional struggle they go through. The girl finally stops being empty, sees the love her aunt is giving her, she was totally happy and loved her aunt just like her own mother. At this point she was near the end of her life as one last push she stood on her own two feet to walk over to her aunt with a happy smile and embrace her showing a love between a mother and a daughter. She wanted to do it with her own will and own power to just walk over and hug her aunt. She felt the love she had wanted and died and if i am correct I don't think the curse was broken but more of she will reincarnate and unfortunately she will go through it. But it's possible if due to how strong her feelings were this time she may have broken the curse finally and will have a normal happy live in the next reincarnation. It's been a very long time so i may be wrong on a lot of things. Probs been 10 years or so since i watched it i think I'll rematch it again sometime in the future! It was short but this was one of the underrated anime's, the story may be confusing and has it flaws but it's full of emotions. a fantastic watch.

There are typesetting errors. The Japanese Kanji are written in the Chinese simplified form and difficult to read.

Yup, and I find it surprising, consider the maker put so much effort into it but somehow let this happen. Also, he used a sub-optimal quality music so I have to replace it before reuploading too. Then we have KZbin compression so the audio is not ideal but still better than the one his used. It would be more awesome without these two imperfections.
