Former SABC COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng says he would be disappointed if the SCA rules against his appeal to not pay R11.5 million to the public broadcaster because he has done a lot for the entity and SA as a whole.

I can attest your statement Malatji as during Mr Motsoeneng's time I was in the employee of the SABC. It had been close to 8 years by the time I left in 2014. If Hlaudi had a sound balance sheet that triggered that he must receive a performance bonus of R11m that is no unlawful. @Sizwe Zuma If such an incentive scheme was SABC policy, and the 'bonus' determined accordingly and rationally, the SIU and courts won't have a leg to stand on, however, I recall that the board of the time was chaired by Ellen Tshabalala, who herself presented fake qualifications to get the position (like Hlaudi and his fake matric), and I doubt strongly that that board would have acted with integrity, within the ambit of the law and executing its fiduciary duty with care. My strong suspicion is that Hlaudi's 'bonus' was irregular, and will have to be paid back with interest. But we'll see, won't we?
