This video shows testing and tuning of the engine speed control algorithm. The goal is to minimize engine oscillations and to provide low response times in changes to load at engine speeds suitable for flight. Load changes occur as a result of changing rotor blade pitch angles during controlled flight. In this tethered test, pitches are changed manually at known intervals to characterize the engine controllers' responses and to update tuning parameters as needed. The successful completion of this test will allow transition into flight controls testing which is one of the last steps before the first test flight of HLQ.
