The first train on the video sounds wonderful. The rake of Southern Region Green carriages really make it look great!!

Hopefully there will be some blood and custard livery to cater for those who model preserved railways.

@@generalgrievous5615 By the time this buffet carriage variant was being produced, I believe that BR had already moved onto the Maroon livery - I have a B&W photograph of the prototype and that is a single colour. However, anyone who has travelled on several preserved railways will know only too well just how popular they are with them.

Did all MK1 train sets have a buffet coach like the HST trains do today? And is there any formations for MK1 coaches as they would of run in the 1960's
@Samstrainsofficially2 жыл бұрын
No, buffet cars be added depending on season, on journey length, on special events in the destination, removed based on slump on profits on that route... really depends. You can add it or remove it from any reasonable length traun and come up with a reason all you like. Likewise if you are modelling a specific place and time there may always have been one in certain sets

So whats happened to the cam unit to allow close coupling to we modellers who do not use the rubbish(tension lock coupling)museum piece coupling, another step back for Hornby,its great to see modern coachs shuffling round like a loose coupled steam age freight,time for Hornby and Bachmann to give us a modern coupling!

When this film says 'includes paid promotion' - whet does it mean?

The advert for Ellis Clarke trains at the end of the vid is the paid promotion.

Hi, why is it, after Hornby re-tooled these coaches. That they haven’t included close coupling mechanism on these? NEM pockets on the bogies? The Hornby group already put close coupling mounts and on there Jouef coaches. Why not there 00??? It’s been on Marklin coaches since the late 1980s!! A close coupled rake of rake of goods wagons which can easily be uncoupled looks so much better? Please ask Hornby why!!!! See my videos to see what I mean if your not sure. The wagons push themselves apart on curves to avoid buffer lock and come back to together on the straighter track. Thanks for a nice channel:-)

Well said, see my comment,i will look at your video with interest,i use Fleishmann 6515 nem couplings,you get so close coupling and as you say no buffer lock, its a treat to see Hornbys coachs with the cam, doing what its made for,instead of Mick Wild heaping unaldulted praise he should be raising your point,i have a lot of Hornbys coachs,but i will not be buying these.

@@ericholmes8665 I asked it was suggested that it would cost to much? They can’t be far off the price of a European coach ? I have to say though. The curves on my layout are tight compared with the Hornby layout they have. So even my close coupling coaches stretch out on the curves and I do have a growing collection of tin plate coaches which don’t have any fancy couplers, but do make a lovely rumble as they go round:-)

@@danmarklinman That would be a shame, it can not be that bad the new Bullied 57ft cost around 40 retail,with the cam,which to me is essential on new models,lets not go backwards.they should look at some of the continental makers if they can do it we can to.Cheers thanks for reply.
