Magic Lights on Hornby TT:120 MK1 Coaches

Hornby TT:120 MK1 coaches are absolutely stunning models that are just begging for a few extras. Populating them is one way but for added realism. For some genuine magic add lighting that you can activate with a ‘Magic Wand’ and release your inner Harry Potter. All the MK1’s on High Fell have been upgraded with lighting. It’s an easy project and works out at about £4 per coach for the parts. The batteries are still going strong after 12 months. It does add a little weight. This should work with any coach. A little bit of trimming is needed on TT:120 Mk1 composite coaches to accommodate the battery holder.

Latching Reed Switch Layouts4u.net £2.99ea
1k resistor 10 for 60p online

Well done, I like the rede switch idea. I have done all my OO coaches with the movement sensors, must try your way on my TT coaches.

I put details of place you can get the latching reed switches in description, the ones listed on various marketplace and auction sites are not latching (or not ones I have found) PS, I have no financial link to anyone 🤣
