Not a modeller but very nice model, however £200 for basic model with decoder rising to close to £300 with decoder is a lot of money

Hi there. Remember these at Wellingborough. Saw these models at Northampton show last weekend. Look really good. Caroline

It looks really nice. I like this version. The handrails by the doors, just like the last lot of class 24s look over scale. I have a Sutton's Workshop class 25 with sound and stay alive on order.

I always assumed that Hornby Magazines new space was just to house Mike's model and layout collection.

It is a bit too expensive, but then again I don’t model diesels, I’m sure they’re brilliant

If these model railway companies are not careful with there over pricing there going to kill off model railway's for good people on low income just can't afford the prices just sheer madness even the second hand market has jumped aboard on over charging,

Sadly hobbies are expensive. For example if photography is a hobby a decent camera and lens can cost thousands. Then there is the editing software subscription, filters, extra batteries, tripod, etc. But people will always find time and money for a hobby, even if it means paying for something over a period of time. Model railways are no different. Remember also, just because you want a hobby, doesn't always mean you can afford it when you want to. That is just the reality of life, for everything. 😊

@@hornbymag sixty years of railway modeling under my hat. And prices have never gone up as rapidly as they have in the last few years what's their excuse this time?, If I remember right bachmanns excuse was it's a special type of plastic, we use, I bet it's recycled they use ,
@stormbowman7148Ай бұрын
@@hornbymag Also, railway modelling doesn't have to be expensive. The beauty about the hobby is that you can scale to your needs/ability. A branch line with a single class 110, a shunter and some goods wagons doesn't have to cost a fortune. Of course the massive layout with lots of trains is appealing. Personally, I found the smaller layout with some shunting options to be much more fun. Each to his own of course.

I've been modelling for over sixty years and quality is as relatively expensive as it ever was. Details on RTR now were unimaginable until recently; pay more, get more . . .
@joginns778Ай бұрын
@@grandaddyoe1434 that's not always the case take a look at Hornby who took over Lima lots of old stock cost double just for a respray there are five different couplings on Hornby and with all these companies a lot of old stock respray and costing a lot more dapol are doing a GWR inspection saloon the cost150 POUNDS or more can you afford that? Not bloody likely,
