I left Bristol in 1997 and have fond memories of the city x The prison was always known as Horfield HMP ! And I knew some people that were imprisoned there ! I also remember there was a riot after Strangeways there ! I visited Shepton Mallet recently on a ghost tour and saw the way people lived in the oldest prison in the U.K. and that included women ! A very diverse topic !

Hi mate most B-Cats are classed as local nicks and your normally categorized there either AA, A, B, C or D and that's within usually one month and your normally sent to them from police stations or Courts after sentencing.

Mate, I got to say your one of the best auditors out there. Even though you’re new to this you give a good all round unbiased view. And treat people with the respect they deserve!! The only bit of advice I will give you (and yes I am a barrister) this public access thing you used at the prison is a very grey area. If you go on to private land such as a prison or police station, the only way you can not be trespassing is if you have business on prison grounds, such as visiting someone. Trespassing is a civil matter until you are asked to leave by the land owner or representative of the land owner i.e a prison officer if you don’t leave when instructed too you are then committing an offence of aggregated trespass which you can be arrested for. However not many police officers know this so it’s abused by the auditors, so like I said just be careful with the public access jargon!! Yes it may have public access but that’s only for visitors that have legitimate business on the site!! The prison officers in your video did have the legal right to use reasonable force to remove you from the site. Good luck with your endeavour’s and I’ll keep an eye out for your content.

Thank you very much for commenting and a big thank you for your advice. I am aware and have said to others that the trespass thing can get serious if you push your luck. I as others have have tested the boundaries so to speak but for me, every day is a learning curve. So once again, thank you it is appreciated

@@Mike-rs9tl This particular site is an interesting one as there's a bicycle repair / hire business run from a small shop which can only be accessed via the prison car park, so that kind of suggests that they've sacrificed any right to restricting access.

@Dobin Pantomine Horse No need to shout. Anyway, who are you saying is incorrect? In allowing a private business to be run which can only be accessed via the car park, and with no signs advising people that access to the car park is restricted to those who have a legitimate reason to visit the prison or those who wish to access the bicycle business, my instinct is that they either need to put up signs to that effect or accept that the car park is publicly accessible.

That monstrosity of an extension should never have been allowed back in 85 it looks more like a nuclear power station and has totally destroyed the look of the area
