I lived in Bristol twice for a combined 6yrs,i love the place and made the most of it. Shame to see people waste the opportunities that are there.

I'm a middle-aged white conservative male. I have been walking these very streets for 13 years. Nobody has ever shown me any aggression. This is not a no-go area.

Drahcir Nevarc true, but I think things have changed since about 10-20 years ago. I live in Easton and overtime I realised that there are less gangs of people on roads nowadays.

St Paul's and easton stopped being no go areas way over 13 years a go you ain't been here long enough they will for ever be shit holes with a stabbing now and then but all shootings and turf wars over drugs stopped at like 2002

Haha, the area has be gentrified by middle aged white conservatives 😂😂 You wouldn't have walked through there in the 90's. I got robbed by the Aggi crew at knifepoint in the 90s. All good though, no hard feelings.

A ceaseless war. And a colossal waste of resources. Isn't it time we took a new approach when it comes to illegal drugs?

You are 110% right. Prohibition must stop. Hope your good.

"War" huh? America started that with Regan in the 80's right? Look how that's going for them. . . Legalise most of the drugs and you take the wars between the distributors of said drugs COMPLETELY off the streets. Tax it and then use the tax earned to offer better rehabilitation services to those who want to get off of said drugs.

Oh my gosh😢 no development, or government investment programs went to Bristol all these years! I moved to Canada in the mid seventies from Bristol and in Toronto up until now they have a strong desire to always invest in people in work skills. BRISTOL was denied a lot of funding for employment centers, skills training, and resources for young people finishing secondary school. And ended up living in viscous cycles and spending life in prison. This is so unfair. Racism dose still exist towards blacks in England. What a shame!
@Robshandshandy6 жыл бұрын
Load of crap. You've been able to get any drugs class c to a all areas in Bristol for years. In fact you can get drugs anywhere in the country. Drugs are rife in the UK and lots of people do them. No matter what they do or who they are. Politicians, doctors, etc all social classes, Legalise the weed. And actually have the resources to help. Bristol has no proper sources or rehabs. Until they can provide more rehabilitation centres in this country we are going to be going round and round.

Born and raised in southmead, I’m 46 now and left the mead at 40. I remember walking g back from town in the 90s and cutting through St Paul’s, never had no shit, but yes back then the gang culture was rife. Coming from a pretty run down area myself it is what you make it and who you choose to socialise with.

5.05 he talks about st pauls and easton having people who are mainly on drugs, but there are poor white areas and working white areas where drug taking is rife too. The only difference is some areas like the black ones such as easton and st pauls are sensationlised whereas the said crime in white areas is not. The officer in the video is Bias, and likely creates and shapes the bias, through his thinking by targeting those areas and people, therefore adding to stats which claim these areas are more prone to drugs. While the white areas ignored, never are patrolled for drugs therefore never have an accurate stats on their drug taking, dealing and usage.
