HMS Illustrious aircraft Carrier, built by Swan Hunter leaves the river Tyne decked with Harrier vertical take off jets. The carrier will be decommissioned in 2014.Most of the jets will be sold or destroyed
Great Britain will no longer own an air carrier for many years.
Britain will now depend on the French aircraft carrier.
