Nice film, can't believe its year already since she came up, and waited years to see her and go aboard, and never got the chance, still gutted to this day!

Many thanks RODPIKER DRONES UK - 1 careful owner, yours for £3bn! Yeap, just got back from the onboard visit. We were invited into the forward hanger deck and able to wonder around the various displays, and equipment. All of the rest of the ship was locked-off to the public. Even so, it was very interesting, a variety of service personnel were represented - there were lots of different uniforms, including different armed personnel! Every member of staff made themselves available for chatting with the public and answering technical, personal, and stupid questions! Video of the open day is being rendered as I type, it will be uploaded after that. Look out for the unfortunate member of staff who had the role of being the sparring-partner for the children to hit him with sticks!!!

Many thanks for your kind compliments FIELDING MELISH ! Please consider subscribing so as to be notified of the video of HMS Prince of Wales leaving Liverpool. Actually there will be 2 versions of this upcoming video - 1 as is, the other digitally stabilised in post-production. Using my camera gimbal wasn't an ideal option on this video as there were so many people. My only option was to raise the camera up to about 3 metres (10ft) holding it up on it's tripod in order to see over most heads and the fence. Further up river was a lover guard rail but many more people. Hopefully, both versions of the leaving video will be available in the next 2 hours.

What a behemoth. Incredible to see they Royal Navy get back ships of that size and capability again - Relative to the time period of course. The Dreadnought-Class battleships for instance were obviously far smaller that the QE-Class, but for the time period they were monstrous. The QE-Class is the Royal Navy's 21st Century equivalent.

Many thanks for your comment Dean - great having some input from a historical aspect. As I have no naval or military background, my approach to this was more towards the engineering and design involved. So far, I've not been able to discover the rational for having 2 towers as apposed to 1 longer tower.
@dean10394 жыл бұрын
@@RiverMersey It's due to several reasons my friend. One is the fact it is not nuclear, so requires two funnels. They went with a funnel through each of the towers instead of a single long one in order to save deck space for more aircraft capacity. Also, if one tower is hit and taken out of action during a combat situation, the ship can still be navigated and aircraft managed from the remaining tower. With one long tower, if it's hit bad, the ship is effectively useless.

Many thanks for taking the time to give such a detailed explanation, Dean. Yes, that does indeed make a lot of sense - although, I must admit, the final result does still look somewhat peculiar!
@dean10394 жыл бұрын
@@RiverMersey Pleasure, and thank you for the excellent footage! Yes it does look peculiar, but I expect that's because it's the first of it's kind. New designs always look bizarre at first.

Many thanks Dean for your kind compliments of this video. Both this video and the public open day video when combined have become my most viewed videos so far - even more so than the Liverpool Giants!

Many thanks for your comment john cartwright . Yes, I noticed that some people who are viewing this are from different parts of the UK, some from other parts of the world. During my visits to the ship, there weren't big crowds - which was slightly disappointing, however, the weather was generally quite bad also. My hope is that you have also been one of the lucky 13,000 ticket holders to go onboard. Finally, as this is was intended by me to be semi-documentary - adding music to it would have detracted clarity from the videos [both this one and the one inside on the open day (link in description)].

I've heard there are complaints about the noise pollution caused by the engine and now I know why. Gorgeous ship but shame about the noise.
