She wasn’t afraid to have some fun and looking at old tapes I’ve never seen it turns out she didn’t act like a traditional king or queen who came before her, she looked like she could be really good fun behind the scenes. Queen Elizabeth II is a very charming and funny lady, if given the chance to reveal it! She is quick-witted and certainly has a sense of humor! She's had to, to put up with some of the things she's had to deal with in her 65+ year reign. Quite a grand lady, we must say. If I were a British subject, I would be very proud of her indeed! We admire her from afar and respect her, and have for many years. My parents took us to see her coronation at a "Newsreel" and about all I remember is when she said "All this I promise to do," and the crown being placed on her head. We have admired her for many reasons since then, and still do -- she has earned her acclaim! Long live the Queen!

I hate knowing that I came into the world towards the end of this wonderful woman's life. When she passes away it will be the end of an era. I hate thinking about it. I want her to live FOREVER.

Same...I've watched more videos of the Queen and Prince Philip in the last 2 weeks and have seen a side of both than I've ever imagined. I certain have more respect for them.

@hazelcornell43113 жыл бұрын
I would only want her to live forever if they could reverse her aging process as needed and keep her in the prime of vigor and health. Can you imagine how she'd feel and what her daily quality of life would be without that, as time went on? Imagine the aches and pains of an elderly 300 year old body. That would suck. :/
@alisonkempster42292 жыл бұрын
I understand! Like with anyone we love, we don't want to be in the world without them but, I do so pray Her Majesty has no illness or suffering and just goes to sleep when the time comes. I cannot believe there is not a place and a warm welcome waiting for her in Heaven.

You can immediately tell the era when you hear people who use the word extraordinary in the way she and Philip would. It ratchets up your (sorry, one's) Britishness like nothing else!

All British children call their mothers "mummy."
@BookOfJames16 жыл бұрын
I dont think thats the point. Just the image, especially the fact Elizabeth was older and already so stately in that scene, makes it so interesting and just plain adorable to see someone so revered and matronly say "mummy" and so completely take on the role of the little girl for a moment.

She certainly does. I worked for her for 30 years and often saw it first hand. Brilliant at deadpan humour. She was visiting a milk marketing organisation and asked what something was. Her host said, 'that is an artificial cow vagina ma' am. '. The Queen looked a little surprised and said,' Well, I suppose if I ask a silly question.....! '. Another time an ambassador was trying to explain the nature of the head of State in the country where he was posted. He was using complicated terms until Her Majesty said, 'Are you just trying to say that he's mad'. Do you remember a fish shaped radio some time ago? I think it was called Billy Bigmouth Bass. It wriggled when it was on. The Queen had one on her piano.
