Got one as S-Pedelec 3 months ago. The wiring for the light/horn was damaged from the factory so I have to bring out the soldering iron and shrink flex to fix it. Also, the brake calipers were not properly aligned and caused squeaking. Again a small fix but when spending 5100 EUR on a bike, I shouldn't have to deal with such stuff. Other than those issues upon delivery it is a very robust bike. I have 3000 km on mine now and I love it. It has also handled surprisingly well on rough forest routes, though the internal gearing obviously sets limits on how steep hills you can climb. One thing that some might find annoying if riding in metro areas with a lot of starting and stopping is that the crankcase is quite high on the bike. The rider in the video should really extend the seat post by perhaps almost 10 cm. The legs are bent far too much when "stretching". So when set up properly it can be hard to reach the ground without coming off of the seat when stopping. The Kiox computer upgrade is well worth it in my opinion - the display on the bike in the video is just too 2005 for me.

Thanks Dermot for the review. I have had one of these bikes for a couple of years now and I absolutely love it. I agree with everything you’ve said in your comprehensive review. It is an amazing bike and while expensive it is bullet proof. I’d have been happy to see you take it up a steep hill or two, because that’s when it really comes into its own! It can sail up the steepest incline. It also goes well on gravel roads and uneven surfaces and is a great Saturday fun bike ride along with the commute. It is heavy, in fact a lot heavier than i had imagined, so that really limits carrying it on or in the car if you want to bring it on holidays. But that’s a small price to pay. I had the fitting for the extra battery fitted when I ordered the bike, as it must be done in the factory, but i didn’t buy the extra battery, yet. So far the battery supplied has a range more than equal to my stamina! I really love this bike and highly recommend it.

is that the comment you put under a Porsche video where they charge you more for removing aircon? €5k is a mid tier eBike these days.

The problem is right now e-bikes are toys, what we need is a model t e-bike, built for mass consumers who need a bike for practical reasons. 5K is way too much and needs to be under 2k to be a practical investment. The fact you referenced Porche says it all about who you see as the target market.

I think so but can you try it as height is one thing but leg length and back length can make a huge difference to
