Welcome to my city, Saigon. I am glad you were able to make the trip. Bui Vien is a busy and happening street. I hope you will have a chance to partake in some Vietnamese cuisine. Try Banh Mi, Bun Bo Hue, Banh Xeo, and Banh Cuon. Beer in Vietnam is cheap. It costs less than water 😊

I think it's a lot easier to live there in terms of cost of living. I was eating every day for $6 and I mean really good food. Housing is also way cheaper. But the only thing is getting any kind of permanent residency. I heard that's near impossible so prepare to do a lot of visa runs if that's even still the case. You will have to talk to an immigration attorney about that. Still many people somehow do it and I haven't seen too many people unhappy with their decision. Best of luck!

So great to see you made it to Vietnam. Thailand is a great place to get the lay of the land regarding S.E Asia. Now you are entering the next level. Vietnam is so diverse and the people are fantastic. I am sure you are going to do the usual HMC, Da Nang-Hoi an. and Hanoi. I hope you go a to some of the Smaller off beat areas and towns. Da Lat, Fong Na, Tam Cuc. So much to see an do in Vietnam, and very budget friendly. Traffic is nuts and you need to pay attention but you're just going through phases of adjustment. Phase 1 "OMG Im going to die" Phase 2 "Hmm I think I am stating to figure this out" Phase 3 " It all sort of makes sense and has a flow to it" Oh and any place that has staff in matching shirts is usually not about service but cranking out food. Don't forget to ask for ice for you beer.😀

@BarefootVlogger Thanks for the tour. BTW, the waiter did not speak English, so the seeming indifferent attitude. In Chicago restaurants, they act the same way if they are new immigrants not knowing English. You get the same reception in other countries where English is not widely spoken. People don't want to be embarrassed struggling to comprehend you. In France, many of them won't respond to you in English even if they know English.

If you go to eat at Bui Vien or close to the entertainment businesses you will be more high prices because they have to pay more for rent or lease the business places. So be knowledge to know where you go to eat or enjoy a good time, remember every where you go they are different people, different culture, different foods so try to enjoy and smile and mostly patience.

Vietnamese bread is very delicious and most popular in the world, especially in countries where Vietnamese people live such as the US, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, the UK, etc. If you return to the US, you can enjoy Vietnamese food here. In the United States, everywhere in the United States, you will find Vietnamese restaurants where Vietnamese people make the food, but the price must be high because the US dollar is about 13 dollars.

I have--personally--found this to be blown out of proportion. The most I had to worry about was motorbike guys trying to overcharge me but most didn't. In fact, I found the guy in the next video (I will be uploading once done editing) to have undercharged me for the distance he took me, so I rewarded him handsomely. I'm not saying pickpocketing or phone snatching doesn't happen, but it's not rampant and I had absolutely zero incidents. I felt safer walking in the most crowded or desolate areas of Vietnam than I do in many parts of Miami--no contest. As in any big city though, you should be vigilant and aware. Keep in mind I was only in Vietnam for about 3 weeks so I'm speaking from personal experience.

It’s kinda sad about your first impression with the pho place but I’m pretty sure there’s a lot more places that can treat u way better. We have that kind of servers in some busy local restaurants, u know “those minors just there for money to buy games😅😅😅”

At the time 37:10 -- I thing the guy service he don’t understand you want to order Bánh Mi - When you come restaurant Pho - 90% they sale Pho only and sandwiches bread ( Bánh Mi only no meat ) some people like to use bánh mi dipping in Pho Soup. Eat together- you want BÁNH MÌ. - you can ask some one - they will show you where to buy Bánh Mi - the best thing. Look in Menu it they Sale Pho - ( Ithing they don’t sale Bánh Mi with Meat together)

I literally just got there, it was late and had no idea but saw the bread in the window. and thought I'd ask. He was trying to tell me they only had veggie banh mi, but I thought he was asking me if that's what I wanted. Thankfully I was able to get a good one from the lady with the cart and it was good!

During your first meal, you met the meanest guy in Vietnam. I’m sorry about that. People are generally incredibly nice and warm there.

Duong Bui Vien is not my cup of Saigon tea. I prefer much quieter places and cities. Ddwuongf (Vn telegraphically spelled) means street.

Should use google to translate from English to Vietnamese for easy communication, they should have egg tolls or other appetite, the pho for 89,000 vnd is too expensive. The waiter should be fire for not be patiece and nice to customers. Hope you will enjoy Vietnamese foods and good time in VN. Other places will be nice to you and you just go to a wrong place and a wrong employee, should tell the owner of this place. Hi from CA.USA
