Great interviews as usual. I hope to visit Ho Chi Minh City eventually. I'm sure the people there are friendly. I found the people very friendly elsewhere in the country where I've visited.

Everyone has a different experience I guess because in Hanoi I found the locals were friendlier to me than Ho Chi Minh folks. 😀
@Chai_Travel Жыл бұрын
That’s very true 😊 I wouldn’t be able to say which would be friendlier tbh. The Vietnamese people have been making us feel very welcome wherever we’ve been. Thanks for watching again 👋

Maybe foreigners don't know this, but there are always agendas against Northerners (Hanoi). People in the South go all over the internet to say how bad Hanoi is while everybody have experiences in both know the truth.

It is clear Hanoi v Ho Chi Minh that there is a more friendly and relaxed vibe in Ho Chi Min. The last interview Thuan of Vietnam confirmed as much and summed it all up beautifully with her knowledge from within giving a full comparison of the two in all respects and the reasons why. Brilliant!! Cheers Chai 🍻🤩

Loving your series on Vietnam. We had a fabulous time there last November. We only did the South and our favourite was Hoi An. 😊🙏

Great to hear Connie :) Hoi An is also (one of) our favourite places :D It's hard to pick but Hoi An turns in to a fairytale at night 😍

I been travelling to Vietnam on holidays for nearly more than 10 yrs. Its difficult to compare, both have their own charm and up and down. The food is different all over Vietnam. Hcmc is a fast city as compared to Hanoi has a laid back/ chill feel. Thats my experience and I love both places and overall I love Vietnam, for the culture, food, people and everything it has to offer . ❤❤ Vietnam. Go and experience the countryside its beautiful.

Many foreign tourists think that the Vietnameses are rude and not friendly because they haven't stayed here long enough to discover the country and understand the local customs . There are good and bad persons everywhere in the world , but unfortunately many tourists jump right away to a negative conclusion after having an isolated bad experience with a nasty local and trend to generalize to the whole country and people . Do you think there is no rude , nasty people and scams in other countries ? I was myself victim of discrimination , xenophobia , racism , scams and thefts while travelling in Thailand Cambodia, China , Hong Kong , Philippines , Europe ( Paris , Rome , Milano , Naples , Capri , Madrid , Francfort , Berlin , Barcelona , Amsterdam , Den Haag , London ...) , North and South America ( NYC , Los Angeles , San Francisco , Miami , Orlando , Chicago , Houston , Dallas , Hawaii , Mexico City , Cancun , Puerto Vallarta , Porto Rico , Quito , Panama, etc...) . One thing is sure if the tourists were nicer and more respectful to the Vietnamese people and the local culture first , they will get back a nicer welcome. I noticed that many foreigners especially the Westerners ( not all of them ) have no respect for our culture , customs , rules and belief (like wearing indecent clothes or having an inappropriate behavior while visiting holy sites or riding motorbikes without proper driving-licence ) . Some of them are openly arrogant and haughty , thinking that they are above the local laws and can do anything or whatever they are allowed to do in their countries . But generally most of the expats who are living in VN for a while have a more positive opinion of Vietnam and the Vietnamese people . I think that the language barrier and the culture difference may also lead sometimes to some sad misunderstandings .

That's partly why I made this video. Also for people who come to Vietnam so they know what to expect and to not get the wrong impression the very first moment they land.

Best city in Vietnam 😉 The thing about it is that it's really a "migrant" city, I don't know the numbers but a very large proportion of the population weren't actually born in HCMC and come here for work. One way of telling is by checking the first two numbers on the motorbike rego plates, if you see 41, 50-59, that bike is from HCMC, the rest are from elsewhere.

Haha arguable! But it’s super nice and I want to explore it more and more 😍 that’s a fun fact! Thanks for sharing that 😁 thanks for watching and interacting again 🏆 cheers mate

Generally if you can speak Vietnamese then you get friendliness. Interviewee is correct about every country have friendly people and not. And also different culture views friendliness differently.
@tl1533 Жыл бұрын
No. Vietnamese is not. Chinese is louder! It is not rude. There is a difference between rudeness & loudness. Thai's voice is soft but there is passive aggressiveness to it.
@Chai_Travel Жыл бұрын
You made a point there :) And It's definitely not rude indeed
