Recently discovered your channel and now have watched almost every video. Been a model railroader over five decades but now, no longer able to do much due to health reasons. Luckily my railroad is built but haven't had much motivation to enjoy it. Watching your videos has been really uplifting, brought back many memories, and inspired me to at least spend a little time with trains each week. Just wanted to say thank you and please keep the videos coming! Living vicariously, when we have to, is still living ;-)

I apprezziate that. I wish I could be more regular with videos but they just take along time to make and even more to edit. I'll have more videos at some point. I have many filmed, I just need to edit and post them.

That was cool to watch. We do things very differently, but I have to admire your technique.

We indeed do things differently but that's not a bad thing. In some ways what you do is better. Provided we both keep busy and can pay the bills, I've got no complaints. Your latest project is coming along quite nicely as well. Hey viewers Go check out Mpeterll's channel. He has some great content and is far more constant with posting videos than I ever will be.

@@MRBenchwork Thanks for the reference. Have you had a chance to look at that plan I sent you a couple days ago?

@@mpeterll I'll get to it in the morning. I've been juggling several large Modular orders trying to get them out the door.

When it comes to bench work construction, you are Michelangelo. It was a pleasure watching you work.

That's generous of you. I know I have a talent for this but I've seen other people's benchwork and been blown away by what they have done too. It just takes time and a lot of practice. Keep in mind that I've built nearly 100 custom model railroads and what I have posted to KZbin is just a tiny sampling.

Really looking forward to it all to coming together. Unbelievable how product shortages, anything from baby formula to Homasote, computer chips, etc., are affecting everyone!
@MRBenchwork2 жыл бұрын
Honestly the Homosote shortage was a fluke. Everyone in my area gets their supply from one commercial supplier and since I only need a few sheets at a time I have to get it from the retailers. Apparently the commercial supplier didn't reorder in time and there was a run on the material. (it's normally used as a sound deadener in high end applications) In short it wasn't the manufactures fault or even the local retailers. The commercial supplier just screwed up is all and thankfully they fixed it in less than 2 weeks. Unfortunately for me that two weeks lined up perfectly with my clients two week vacation so the whole project got a 1 month delay courtesy of happenstance.

You amaze me with your insight, how you build these Great layouts. Did you do construction before you started doing benchwork?
@MRBenchwork2 жыл бұрын
10 years of curved concrete form work and home remodeling with 3 years of cabinet making trimming houses added on for good measure. October will be 12 years of building benchwork and 9 years of it being my only job.
