I really enjoyed Thorton in my Ho-oh list, being able to swap the Ho-oh for a basic in the discard, and surprising my opponent with a fully loaded attacker.

@@ZayDeyknow I was using it before rotation with Kecleon to hit for 270 with Supereffective Glasses. The deck was not good, by any means. But the idea of using Thorton with Ho-oh was definitely a decent start.

@@albedo9093 Thorton does not end your turn. The trick is turn 1 dump a bunch of stuff into the discard and end your turn by bringing back Ho-oh with 4 Energies. Then on your turn 2, you use Thorton to swap Ho-oh for a better attacker, which now has the 4 energies you put on the Ho-oh.

You could probably do blissey for energy acceleration. It’s a little bit slower but you don’t have to rely on energy switch

The goal is to dump Ho-oh and Revive on your First Turn only then set up the other using Glass Trumpets. Otherwise you won't use Ho-Oh mid game unless you have a dead turn where you probably won't KO.

@@Jacob-bn1nj Honestly there are some noticeable differences in my deck. I don't use trumpet, pokestop, mew, gren, or secret box. My build is more bulk centered with having a couple of different threats at a time by utilizing hero's cape and crispin. I've been enjoying it a lot

10:30 Glass trumpet to 2 benched ones including Squawkabilly, manually attach to the active, energy switch from not-Squawk to the active, retreat to Squawk who only has 1 retreat cost (also Dragapult can't KO Squawk 1 for 2 prices) would have been the play to make sure you get enough energy into the discard pile for Ho-Oh and you are able to retreat next turn. Retreating is an often overlooked great way to discard energy.

It will, but only if you have a fifth, sixth, etc. basic energy type in the mix.

I play both pokemon tcg and Magic the Gathering, also follow youtube creators of both games and it blows my mind that pokemon players and youtubers look like hyperactive kids that talk super fast and alot, like this guy, AzulGG and the other skinny dude that dont remember his name.
