A couple of suggestions for you and figures. When cutting use a hockey puck for a raised platform to do your surgery, better control when raised up. Secondly if you have a wood burning kit file a brass tip to a fine point. Use this point carefully to apply heat to a neck, elbow, hand, ankle then twist.

Good idea using a Pyrogravure

Dave. I tried the turning a head on a Preiser Figure by using a tweezers. How I did it was with a Heavy Tweezer and a Table lamp that I use for Painting figures. I held the figure up to the lamp to use the heat coming off of the 60 watt bulb. I held the figure up close to the bulb for like 20-25 seconds. Then gripping the head with the tweezers I applied pressure and turned the head with out cutting it off. I think that it took like 3 times warming the neck and head up to actually to turn the head.

+Kevin Barwiler Cool I'm glad it worked, do you had any pictures? This kind of modeling is not done often ,but I believe it makes for a distinct scene and layout overall.

+ruatrainman2  Dave, I will take a picture and send it to you. :) I was cleaning seams up this afternoon on the next set of figures that I am painting. I was Heating up a Arm that I wanted to move with the heat from my lamp and I got too gitty and not enough heat because the arm snapped, :( I should of used the Tweezers in stead of my thumb.......... Oh well

This is the kind of video I've been looking for. Getting back into modeling, but going for 1/35th scale zombie/apocalypse type dioramas. Thing is, I need kids/teenagers, so going for HO & O scale figures. Got a lot of dupes and after changing them, will make molds of them to cast resin copies of. This way I won't have only adults in my dioramas or have to buy expensive ($10 to $30 each) resin copies of kids.

Great Job What Brand of paint and Brushes you use
@ruatrainman22 жыл бұрын
Hello, I use all different brands and types of paint, but I like the cheap craft acrylic paints like Apple Barrel, and Americana. I use high quality brushes like D Artisan Shoppe, on the lower end and Army Painter and Grabie on the upper end. They are not the most expensive but good brushes go a long way to getting a good coat of paint onto models imo.

Dave that was a great How to on Preiser Figs. I have allot of doubles and now I have a reason tochop them. I like how you took a tweezers to the hand of the one to change the position of the hand. I wonder if you couldn't do that to Heads too? Just a thought......

+Kevin Barwiler Hi Kevin, thank you for your comment. You could try to twist the head/neck around ,I guess it all depends on how happy you are with the end result. I haven't twisted any of the heads yet but that's a good idea. I usually make video's of things that I need to do but no one has uploaded yet.

Nice little video. If I may ... you can use some white Squadron Modeling Putty to build up the hair area on a figure's head, along with filling gaps and seams. Apply and shape if with a pin, let it set and fully dry, then lightly add to it or take away with hobby files. Hobby files are also great for reshaping figures too. Other than that ... well done! www.squadron.com/Squadron-Tools-White-Putty-SQ9060-p/sq9060.htm

Hi Brock, the pack I bought was 120 unpainted figures ,here's a link to an ebay site that sells them for a good price. www.ebay.com/itm/Preiser-Train-Staff-Passengers-Passers-By-People-120-Unpainted-HO-Scale-New-/282464437847?hash=item41c4314657:g:xQsAAOSw44BYZS84

I don’t know why Preiser duplicate figures in the same pack, it is a little annoying.
