My biggest fear about this show is the hoarders will see the empty space and think “now I can buy more things!” And just go back to their old ways.

Mmm...sadly, thats the thing thats will be happen. Guaranteed 100%. Basically a hoarder are the most selfish & twisted minded parent. They dont care at all about their family & children. All the thing they care about is their insatiable greed to pile up & fill everything in everywhere possible spaces.

I think that’s likely what happens. It’s a psychological disorder and the show is there for three days. That isn’t enough time to change anything. Could make it worse.

@@syariefdirgantara7670 greed has nothing to do with it. Hoarding is caused by traumatic events with a possible genetic component. Hoarders try to cope with traumatic events and depression/anxiety by holding onto possessions even trash and constantly buying things. The only treatment is therapy.

Kitkat Mulan I remember my house being clean twice and it was a fact of life. Usually, you couldn’t see the carpet, the kitchen was a sea of trash crashing even over the table. I didn’t do my homework because I had nowhere to do but my bed or the floor and finding a comfortable position was impossible. I smelled bad and missed a lot of school. Kids were mean to me, yes.. but the teachers were the worst.

What's sad about these situations is no matter how many times you clean it up for them they're just going to do it again if they don't get the proper mental help. I've dealt with this with my best friend for almost 20 years and I cleaned her house too many times to count and she just does it over and over. Has kids growing up in it has maggots in her silverware drawers 20 bags of trash in the kitchen none of her family will listen to me they've all seen it they do nothing about it. I hate to say it because I am a firm believer for the kids are better off with their biological parents if the parents can be rehab ilitated but I really think that children should be taken away from Hoarders because they're just going to keep doing it over

you grow up really accustomed to it, so even if you hate it, you don't want to be removed from your family. It bothers you, but not as much as it would someone else.. You stop finding things disgusting. your tolerance threshold is huge. But it does interfere with everything else in your life, specially when beds or bathrooms become unavailable. But even when that isnt the case. its a constant burden
