Well we’re doing yet another KonMari method on all of the spring and Easter decorations! This is the second time we’re doing this but now we’ve healed enough in our hoarding where we can start to organize all of the items! So this episode is about decluttering even more Easter decorations, decorating the house and organizing those decorations for storage later! I’m here to tell you that you can indeed heal in your hoarding Disorder!

First I was like "why would you buy new bins, you already have loads of them" but I do think that this is a nice way for you to finalize each and every part of your decluttering. And even if you have spare tubs in the end (and we all now there is no end when decluttering 😂) they are not wasted. Well done!

Maybe its different in other countries but here in the Uk I cannot say I know a single person who decorates their home for Easter. Videos of people in US seem to over decorate for everything. I would not have the time to decorate like this. A chocolate Easter egg and I am a happy girl. I hope you are not too tired putting all this up and removing it shortly afterwards. X

Please dont buy many new bins, because its buying new stuff to get rid of other stuff. As you declutter, bins of the same colour will get empty automatically. Also, if you ever declutter more easter stuff, you have an extra purple bin in which you cant put any other stuff

I get your point but sometimes you just want it to be easy to find and be able to feel joy when you see your organization bins too. I feel like she isn't buying so much bins and that she sometimes are giving away some of her other organizing stuff that she doesn't use. I also think she are going to use the bins for a long time because as she says.. she will find new spring things that she wants. She also have all the decorations that's in the house right now that's going back to the bins soon so I think it was a good buy 😊

I absolutely see your point and I dream in the future of me decluttering storage bins bc we Decluttered so much 🦄🙏🏻💜 For me: this was me making decluttering & organizing so much fun that my anxiety stays calm and this becomes exciting & fun! Since I love colors, crafting, artsy stuff...this is creating new positive stigmas to replace the safety net of hoarding. I LOVED LOVED how those purple bins looked organized. And with my OCD those will be the only bins I keep for spring: anything new bought, something will need to be Decluttered! I really wished I explained that...maybe I will in a YT story!!! Thank you for that idea my sweet friend 🦄🌟🙏🏻💜

@@ahoardersheart You might even find more spring stuff in the rest of the basement/attic as you go through each space. I'm sure when you get to a point where you don't have enough Spring items for these bins, you will either find another use for the spare bin(s) or sell/donate the excess. Love what the millionairess said above me, if you have clothes that you want to bring up during Spring you could move them to the purple bins once enough space is made for them. What a lovely sight that would be, clothes you've been looking forward to wearing ready to be brought up to your room via a pretty purple bin :D

You’re doing so wonderful your videos are now under 15 minutes and your decision making is much faster. You’re so inspirational. I think just have clear uniform containers of all the same size still label containers. Because when you declutter in the future you said it that you won’t put regular items in the lilac container. When it’s time to put your Easter decorations away this year reavaluate your items to purge more.

Hey, relatively new viewer here ✋🏼 I just wanted to pop in and say that even though the kids might like some presents, the parents probably don’t. At least that’s how it is with my family and friends. Their kids probably have enough toys already and these seasonal plastic items might get trashed soon. I know you said gifting is your love language, I love that but in the end it doesn’t help anyone to receive gifts which they might not need (please ignore this, if you are certain your friends would love these gifts). I don’t want to sound to critical here because I admire how much progress you have done so far! Maybe just gift the items you have already and be a bit more thoughtful with further purchases? I really don’t won’t to sound rude. Also, another thing (I know I’m complaining a bit right now, please forgive me 🙈) I don’t think buying new bins and containers is very helpful. You mentioned that you have tons and tons of containers from decluttering already. So why bring new stuff in the house then? Please consider these as well-meant tips and have a great Easter with your family 💕
@merrivideo
@merrivideo 3 жыл бұрын
Is harder to gift adults. Something easy and not so wasteful is food. My love language is also gifting but as a minimalist and zero waste, I have reduced the amount of people I give gifts because I realized that I really don't know them that much to pick a meaninful gift.
@fabra1122
@fabra1122 3 жыл бұрын
@@merrivideo No, I meant the parents of the children she would like to gift these items to won't appreciate the added clutter in their homes even though the kids might. But I agree, it's harder to give presents to adults. The older I get the more I dread Christmas and birthday presents because of the meaningless clutter. In the end we don't need much to be happy right? Food is useful though lol

The easter section is a very dangerous place for me at thrift stores or dollar stores. I LOVE Easter and Spring decor. With thrifting and dollar stores as an option, there is nothing you can't find for cheap. I love decorating for Easter or getting stuff for the future. I have to keep a level head and say, "This is cute, but I don't need it." or, "I can always find something like this in the future." My problem is all the cute stuffed bunnies and chicks/decor. I just bought ballerina shoe bookends (they were in the easter section. must have been the pink color associated with spring) for $4, regular $40! I also bought a Little Critter Easter book, a Biscuit touch and feel easter board book, and an Eric Carle Easter board book. This way I save $ on spending full price and buy what I need for daycare or future children. I also managed to get a thirty-one little basket to store board books for rotation/storage for only $3! What a find!

Very pretty decorations, lovely that you freshened up your home with decorating for Easter. Just wondering if you are using your Laundry as a staging area for seasonal craft and gifts? Might be a really great area to return to and look at how you are using that room at the moment. Won't it be lovely with the warmer weather on the way that the boys will be running in and out of the house through the back door, and that room will be more open. It's so great that you let go of so much more and are feeling more organised, must be really great therapy to reduce anxiety.

This plastic egg hunt thing is so strange to me. We hunt for real eggs or chocolate eggs or chocolate bunnies or some small gifts. Always funny how traditions in different countries are.

To me the whole plastic eggs thing seems so strange too. I have never seen this before either. I have to admit I don't understand why plastic eggs are sanitary? Chocolate, candy or chocolate bunnys are also wrapped in their packing, no need for plastic eggs in my opinion 🤔

@@acr17 and chocolate candy/bunnys melt outside here where it is warm on Easter. We use plastic eggs and fill with wrapped candy, small gifts etc If I leave a plastic egg outside unfound, no biggie...leave candy or real egg outside it lures wildlife toward the yard. Plastic eggs are the way to go for sure

So in your country-real, hard-boiled eggs are hidden? Is that only outside or also inside? Seems like that would limit the number of eggs the Easter Bunny brings, or else you’d have a huge number of eggs in the refrigerator! And putting them against painted walls or places where the dye would stain would be a no-no. And what about if an egg is not found? Real eggs going bad would be terrible transition into spring! 🦋

Yes, in my country real hard boiled eggs are hidden. Usually the parents get up early in the morning, hide the eggs and the kids go outside when they wake up and search for them, so the eggs and the candy isn't outside for a long time and it is not that warm outside yet. Usually it is not that much eggs, maybe about 10 eggs per child and maybe a chocolate easter bunny, a little present like a book or a little game and a little bit more candy. The parents hide those things mostly in the garden between plants and so on and they usually remember where they hid everything and sometimes ask "have you looked over there yet?". So nothing gets left outside. Not always is everything hidden, for example in some familys, like mine, the kids each built a little nest out of moss and sticks and the easter bunny lays his things in there. Really interesting how different easter is handled in different countrys 😊

I LOVE THIS...learning new traditions in different countries 🌸🐰🙏🏻 But honestly, when I was a little girl, I do remember my first egg hunt being colored boiled eggs too...I wonder when it changed here?!

Great job! But my new motto is use what you have. I'm sure you could of found some colored bins in your basement & switched those out. I too use to decorate for the holidays with a lot of extra stuff. Now I color eggs & put those out with a some pastel place mats on the table and some real flowers bought from the store or a real plant. Fall i have fall placemats & some candles for the table. A carved pumpkin for halloween & bake the pumpkin seeds for snacks. Very little but just enough to celebrate the holidays. It did take years to come to this but your doing a great job. I have to really think about buying things & try not to buy things to organize stuff in.

I can so relate to Easter. Easter stuff is super cute, child inspired, and so sentimental. I only have 1 bin, but my daughter grew up and moved away 5 years ago. Lol Also, my Dad passed away on Good Friday, so I didn't celebrate for many years. But, I think watching you, I will try a little. I have an Easter tree, and my daughter and I gathered many ceramic cute bunnies.

I LOVE EASTER, that has been my favorite season. When I saw all your EASTER decor and things. Thank you. Just last week, I was telling my youngest that is the only season I want to change alot of the decor in my kitchen to be soft pasteles. My favorite colors are Red and Purple. I want to be your neighbor. I don't have any storage space but, I have rabbits and bunnies all year long.
