I really share my heart with everyone on this video ❤️ Please know that I will always encourage trying new things and that The 30 Minimalist Challenge Is an excellent game for Decluttering your Home!!! I’m introducing JOLT “Just One Little Thing” as I continue Decluttering our Hoarded messes. We just have to let go of just one little thing per day. That’s it!! Along with a positive affirmation about yourself! It takes the pressure off when you’re in those higher days where you have to let go of 29 things on day 29!
How to play Minimalist Game Challenge: • How to Play the 30-Day...
Minimalist Game Challenge Week 1: • Hoarder’s Heart: 30 D...
Minimalist Game Challenge Week 2: • Hoarders Heart: 30 Day...
Minimalist Game Challenge Week 3: • Hoarders Heart: 30 Day...

I've used something like JOLT to get through episodes of depression. Even if I can only do one little thing, like brush my teeth or eat something or hug someone or whatever, then it's miles better than nothing. Every thing counts.

As a hoarder myself who constantly thinks "how can this be reused... how can I recycle this... I don't want this to go to a landfill... etc" I find it very wise and freeing to say it's okay to count the plastic bag. I had hundreds of bags stored within other bags and no clue where to put them. I finally found somewhere that would recycle them but well before that I had to ask my husband to "take care of them" and just not involve me. I gave myself permission to not feel guilty about putting my sanity and home before the environment for just a bit. Now I take reusable bags EVERYWHERE to combat ever getting back to that place and don't allow the bags to pile when they're unavoidable. It isn't a big thing but it's still ONE LESS thing I'm battling in my home and that's good enough for me 👍😁👍 Thank you so much for talking about decluttering from the perspective of a hoader. There really aren't enough people talking about it this way and trust that you are helping others!! It's good to know that we aren't broken because we can't do these challenges and decluttering methods... we just have to alter them to fit our hoarder's heart 💕

I'm not a hoarder but I did need to tackle my clutter. I did 5 things a day for weeks. Sometimes if I was up to it , I'd declutter 5,6,or 7 things and feel great about that. Eventually it was done!!! And keeping things clutter free is so much easier than I thought.

Nothing says we can’t do days 1-7 over and over again. Or 5 things a day. Having a simple clean organized home is supposed to be fun or enjoyable for all of us. There’s something to be said for baby steps.

You call us heart healers but you honestly are the same for me! My parents are level 3 hoarders and when I bought my house within a year every crook and cranny had something in it so I had to really catch myself and my habits before it got out of hand, you've been pretty much a weekly motivation for me for about 2 years now so thank you!!! My favourite quote is "The grass is greener where it's watered" for me, it symbolises the need to put care and time into the things we often want to change/replace/run away from :)

I don't believe you are ready for minimalism challenges. But you will get there. Dealing with the emotions of letting go of items you have an emotional attachment to is not easy even for those of us who aren't hoarders. That is why I love your channel you deal with the raw emotions of hoarding and hanging onto items.

Several years ago my motto was J.O.B. (Just One Bite) , like the saying "How do you eat an elephant, a bite at a time" (Desmond Tutu once wisely said that “there is only one way to eat an elephant: a bite at a time.” What he meant by this is that everything in life that seems daunting, overwhelming, and even impossible can be accomplished gradually by taking on just a little at a time.) This is so true. Flylady says we procrastinate because we want to do a job "perfectly" , Spending 10 minutes cleaning your kitchen may not get it "perfectly" clean ,but you know what? After 10m , it's better! Doing something is better than nothing! Great job Mrs. Heart!

Wow, when you said, 'let's get our spaces back' I realized that having anxiety about having a lot of open space is connected to attachment style/abandonment. If one is unwittingly afraid of empty space in their home it is, in my opinion, connected to fear of abandonment. I feel it in my body. Thanks so much for saying that as it inspired a truly deep and significant insight which in itself is key to coping with and healing that anxiety.

Hi everyone. I am a minimalist person but not my family. I use JOLT for my youngest daughter to strengthen her muscles 💪🏼. Now she often says that she can let go of something she crafted one hour ago. I told her that it is ok to let thing go and that sometimes the action “crafting” makes you happy and not to store the crafted thing. I think that this method can help many people to strengthen their decluttering muscles (old, young, hoarders, stressed…). Thanks to sharing your ideas and experiences 💖

I guess my brain is wired completely differently too. I feel that decluttering, or anything, is most effective when it's adjusted to extent and urgency, and the minimalist game sounds like "one size, fits nobody". If there's a lot to get out, even thirty items per day will hardly make a dent; conversely, I have often seen the removal of certain items (through the onion method) release a "landslide" of decluttering - for me, it just ebbs and flows.
@theoffkeydiva
@theoffkeydiva 3 жыл бұрын
The people I see who would most benefit from the game are the kind of people who developed the game: established minimalists who want to prevent clutter creep. For people who have already decluttered, 500 ish things over the course of 30 days is a great way to “get back to baseline” and the format pushes you to make harder choices as the days go on but that’s fine for established declutter- ers. Ms. Heart is not a good use case but to each their own 😊

Maybe once you have built up the decluttering muscles you could slowly increase it to two each day and eventually make it to where you do a smaller version of the minimalism game by doing day 1-7 for four weeks, it makes it do able tasks. I tried the minimalism game and I found it quite hard when it got over 8/9 items a day. I think I might try just doing day 1 to day 7 and resetting it every week, as I don’t think it’s as stressful. you may be getting rid of less but your still getting rid of 112 items at the end if the month so it’s still a fair chunk done. You are doing great in decluttering and I really enjoy seeing your progress❤️

After watching you do the challenge, I tried it and completed twice😊 For me it was just a fun game that pushed me to take closer look at things I had. But oh yes, it can be very stressful to some people. Because you are always looking for things to get rid of, you would have to find something bad/wrong about things. Being that critical all the time… can bring such negative energy! 😣 I hope everyone would thank decluttered items for serving their purposes. So the focus will be more on gratitude. Oh and JOLT and positive affirmation… such an excellent advice!!! We have the power to change, and choose joy each day❤️

I think it would be much easier to do the decluttering game in reverse. Start by getting rid of 30 items when you are full of enthusiasm and your house is full of stuff. Each day the required number reduces as your amount of clutter does too. That said I don’t think I could manage it as I need more time to decide on what I can part with. I definitely need to go at a slower pace.

Something I found helpful with food is to add a good food choice into your day before making yourself take something away. I don't know your details. I played the Minimalism Game in February, it is not for the faint at heart for sure! I was able to get rid of over 400 things but only because I had been working that decluttering muscle for years first. I like the Jolt idea too! 💜 I kinda do that with the one box challenge I did in March and and again doing it this month. 💜 I place one box in my house some where and place things in it daily when it fills up I take it to goodwill. 💜 I am also thinking the Minimalism Game can be played another way by just starting over each week Sunday 1 thing, Monday 2 things etc 💜 I hope everyone knows there is not just one way to declutter!!! Do what works for you! 💜

The minimalist game in its original form didn't work for me. Just 1 thing on day 1 when my excitement and motivation is the highest? I decided to write down the numbers 1-31 and strike through how many I could come up with on a certain day (decluttering 5 minutes). Like day 1 I would find 12 items, perfect! If the number was already taken I tried to find one more item or put one off to the next day.

I agree! You gotta take advantage of that motivation. I like your idea. It’s more like a true “game” . I saw another KZbin video where a young lady did it backwards- decluttering the most items on day 1. But yours seems more fun!

Maybe someone who is at level 2 or 3 can try it and when they get to the point that is a little out of your comfort level you re-start. See how far you get the next time. Re-start again and again. I am so Very Sorry you felt pressure to do that challenge. Please, I think that had you shared the pressure everyone would have told you to reset to the start. I don't know how But, You did it. Thank you for sharing Now. Please share when you can that you just like we struggle. I still haven't finished my declutering of my bedroom. So, I still haven't painted a single strock. I see that, You have maintained your Beautiful Bedroom, That is hope. I have not clutter it more which is also a challenge 🤔😅, that's a positive thing that I am Happy about. I have been keeping up with my only bathroom and 1/2 keeping my kitchen. So then again I have progress but, not actually accomplished to get to my goals.
