So happy to see the MTX out here. Looking forward to seeing you run it at your bmx track. I should have my rtr Friday.

You're gonna fall in love with Hobao after you review this truck. Their line up is rock solid. Great engineering, extremely durable, relatively cheap compared to the competition and their buggies/sct/sst although fit the mold of a basher can easily hold their own at the track

Hello world. This has been a very anticipated truck. The first MT wasn’t that great. But it did come in nitro and electric. The next MT plus II was way too big and heavy. This one, addresses all the issues of the first MT and has all the bulletproof features and nice parts from the plus II. Although it’s still a bit big for a 1/8 (uses so many parts from the 1/7 scale plus II) it’s a great size overall. When your batteries go flat and you have to carry it a few hundred metres you will see what I mean. Hopefully it sells well as Hobao are still an underrated brand not getting the sales and attention they deserve

Can't wait to see how the TC motor and esc perform on this. Looks like a beast.

Just viewed a video of this running. Looked good! Several improvements made over the previous Hyper MT. Those tyres look cool even if they do transform into pizza cutters remarkably quickly in the videos I just viewed! A potential downer I'm seeing so far is the RTR seemingly features the same motor and ESC as used in the previous Hyper MT. If I recall correctly, the motor was shown in some reviews of said previous RC to have thermal management issues. Other than that the only real downer of buying Hobao RCs, along with the likes of Corally, is parts availability. I just checked the most popular RC website here in the UK and pretty much every part for the previous Hyper MT is out of stock.

Oh damn I was hoping you'd do an unboxing of one of these. I was looking at their lineup recently and despite not being that common the older models seem to be very popular with the people who own then. All the Hobao MT's I've seen have super interesting chassis designs, definitely stands out a lot compared to the other MT's on the market.

Every Hobao I have owned has been a good choice. To be honest, straight out of the box has been faster than anything in each class.

Nice. Im using a mt plus2 UJ for my Tlr truggy, cheaper and beefier. I hope they solve the short travel problem on mt sport for the Mtx

It's nice. What I did notice is that it a bit harder to work on because of the dual chassis design no? Or I could be wrong. I'll be waiting for you opinions. I have plenty of RC vehicles in my collection at the moment. Hehe. Thanks for the video. Edit. It doesn't have a dual chassis! This is different. Hehe.

My hyper mt plus 2 is a beast, that chassis may look similar to the hpi dual vertical plate chassis, but the hobao is stamped from a single piece of thick aluminum and the most rigid chassis of anything I have. This seems to share about 80% of the components. Besides this being a little shorter then on the longer chassis hyper mt plus 2 they also updated some of the parts. It’s heavy though and the plus 2 motor mount only got 40-42 mm motors (if you wanted to use the mid motor support mount ) I am running a 4095 long can motor, which is fine, but I would like to run something bigger like a castle 1717, hobbystar 4595 or Hobbywing 1650 which don’t got the motor mount the plus 2 came with, I wonder if that has been changed. Great rig!

Great summary, I’m going to try a 4074 2050kv which might run hot, if that doesn’t work I’ll try like a 4082 or bigger.

great contribution! I can assure you that this mt has a better transmission and is less delicate than the kyosho Usa v1. and that the arrma big rock v3. I believe that hobao outperforms Kyosho and arrma in terms of strength and gear life!

Looks pretty strong and I know it's not a racer but I don't get why they (with others) don't try to get as low of a CG as possible when there are no ground clearance issues.

This truck looks tough, but in reality will be less durable than Traxxas and Arrma trucks, because of its massive weight and lack of quality plastic components. I had an MT Plus 2 which looked exactly the same and it would break all the time. The Hobao buggies and short course trucks are awesome however ❤️

An almost RTR for 600 bucks with tax? If so,that's sounds too pricey. I'd rather spend the extra for a ride I can share parts with and not have to buy a whole other pile.
