I LOVE WATCHING GAMES. Not much YT Battle reports, prefer in live. Why? Why people like so much Gameplays? The same for me watching live games. I see them as watching a movie. ++Pluss for watching hobby games I LOVE seeing peoples models. And even better if they bring personalized models. For me, gaming is the way to show your models un public 😂. Hate too much building lists, keep an eye all the time to the FAQs, rules updates, optimizing points... 😅 I am the guy walking tournaments just to stand aside and watching the games . Not in a creepy way, always ask and complemeting the models I found cool.

@@HungryTrollMiniatures I like watching games from time to time, especially if I'm already finished and waiting around for the next one. Sometimes, I watch games to learn how they are played. You can give me a rulebook and I could read it from front to back, but there is something wrong with my head where I can't actually visualise what the words are trying to tell me unless I have a visual example to show me. It's one of the reasons why I prefer watching a movie based on a book rather than reading the book itself. I get no enjoyment out of reading. There have been a couple of games I got into where by just watching the game being played I understood how it is supposed to be played. Then, with that context, the rulebook becomes easier to digest as I can now more easily understand what it is trying to tell me.

Oh Eirik. At least you got the girl in the end! And North, NO, painting nurgle is easy, that's why they're great! You can make as many mistakes as you want and it generally comes out fine. I would definitely recommend them as a beginner painting army, so long as you rely heavily on washes and technical paints

I’d comment about a woman’s perspective on giving up but I’m lesbian as hell and can’t pick up on flirting lol. Though I will say, good on that guy for not immediately hitting on her, the most uncomfortable experiences I’ve had while in the hobby have all been random guys hitting on me. One even kept going for almost forty minutes despite me trying to gently get away the entire time. It’s the worst feeling.

I see contrast paints as a great tool to get your base colors fast, and then use regular paints to highlight. It's a technique called Contrast+ and it is another tool in the toolkit

I’ve printed out 500pts of space wolves and orks inspired by their combat patrol box. I’ve used them to teach ppl how to play and I always use my tyranids or GSC. I offer them one those small armies for $50. I can always print them again. Or offer to print out any faction’s combat patrol box they want for $75-$100. This usually gets them hooked and they start buying their armies or requesting specific units from me to print.

Contrast paints are a tool you can use, much like pre-made washes are a tool and were once labeled as cheating as well. I've never used contrast paints myself, though. I've never felt like I personally need them (much like airbrushing and using spray cans to undercoat my minis), but I have my own paint process and can get up to 10 models painted in two or three days, if I need to. So, I'm happy with how I paint, even though they are provably not award winners.

I mostly use contrast these days for speed and ease of use. It’s completely fine for my “get this squad ready for the table” level stuff, and I can always push more detail and highlights with acrylic layers over top if I want. My favorite models get that treatment and more complex layer work to make them look nicer.

I'm going to sound like such a shill for this but if I was the guy getting his mate into 40k I would print out the infantry from the old sisters combat patrol and play some OPR firefight. Get the hang of moving minis, rolling line of sight all that and if they were interested see if they wanted more of that or if it wasn't for them.

Contrast paints aren't cheating, they're a great tool and a real time and effort saver. However you can always tell when a model is painted in contrast, especially when it's a large portion of the model that it has been used on.

contrast is a great tool. When teaching a person to play keep the battle small. 500 pts 750 tops. this way the other player gets small fast games. make sure its fun for both of you. MORDHEIM is the best GW game of all time. I would suggest not dating a girl from a place you play outside of a friends house. the reason is simple, when you break up you will likely be the one given shit and i have seen guys banned from thier communities. its just not worth it. this guy story is just funny though.
