*Seasonal Decorating* . It's taken me many years to stay clear of "themey" decor. At 56, and living in a small home, it comes down to color palette, pattern and textural elements. After living in my home for 9 years, the staple pieces are what they are, I've perfected a styling formula that makes rooms feel cohesive. My Spring palette is Lavender and Lambs Ear green, Summer is Navy and faded denim Blue and white/ivory, Autumn is Amber and Olive and Chocolate, Winter is dark evergreens, chocolate and Black. Living in Upstate NY, I take inspiration from the outside and bring it in. I'm happier with a seasonal decor re-fresh of items I can re-use year after year rather than the latest release from Target.

I totally agree with you! The same decor items for YEARS! I’m totally tired of gnomes, Buffalo check, word signs, scarecrows, farmhouse, etc. I love vintage and warm autumn tones and decor. I want my home to be different from everyone else’s.

I definitely feel differently about all of this! One thing I love about fall is all the different colors - orange, brown, rust, red, green, cream, yellow, etc... I like muted versions of them, but I still like all of the colors - just like the leaves! 🍂🍁

I actually got rid of all my “Halloween” and bold fall items five years ago. I went out and bought beautiful glass pumpkins: multiple colors, candle sticks, candles, acorns and I kept a few of my ceramic pumpkin and leaf accessory dishes to use. So much happier with fall. I now am bringing in some sunflower decor, little touches and apples. To move on in to pumpkins. This way I can use it through to Christmas decorating. I try to not over do it. A little here snd there. I also use the same vessels for each season. If I buy a new one, one has to go. I’m trying not to add anymore to store than I already have. If I love something new, something old has to go. I just move the vessels around the home to mix it up. Love the keys.

I am so with you. I spent two hours at Hobby Lobby and didn’t buy one Fall item. I feel like at 62 I’ve finally grown up and want to leave the cutesy stuff behind! Lol. Their vessels are gorgeous but how many vessels does one person need? I really want to go thru my fall decor’ and pare it down. I’m craving simplicity. This is very much how I decorate for fall mainly because my home is all vintage/antiques. I use vintage linens, brown transferware, forged stems with leaves, collected amber glass, etc. my newest obsession is raw honey candle sticks.. the perfect fall yellow

I do seasonal decor very minimally. I change the flowers and add few pieces for the seasons like wreaths or add vines. For fall i add few pumpkins and change my throw blanket to. Mostly I just thrift vases, candle sticks ect for all year long.

Great vases at Hobby Lobby. Wow. Over here in Germany such vases are so expensive. Like the HL prices without 50%. I always decorate minimal. My staple pices which stay the same year round and a little touch of the season we are in. (So summer at the moment. 😁) Hugs from Gemany 🌻

I want more actual looking art/landscapes/vessels things like that. I'm definitely over the little red truck stuff! Hi Dana! I LOVE that vessel area at HL. I went crazy but mostly at 50% off. I got about 5 vases for what I would have paid for one at Pottery Barn. I have plenty to change out and I love that! More of that kind of thing, less of the pumpkins. I got rid of a lot of that last year and did more florals, pillows, textured linens and throws. I've been putting some things out as I get them but I may just clear out lemons and summer and slowly start transitioning as I get the time. I had an impromptu vacation in Door County Thursday through Sunday so I missed the first weekend of trying to get my Fall act together which means I'll be decorating through Labor Day. But I'll get done when I get done! I'll probably start out doing some and end up doing more! I have plenty of Fall decor so once I go through I'll decide! 😂 Stay well, friend!

I personally enjoy the Fall splendor and want to bring that into our home. We enjoy the beautiful colors in Fall ... orange,, reds, yellow, browns... Pumpkins scattered about. Toured Hobby Lobby this week and honestly did not like any of the jug pots or vases. Think i have seen a half dozen influencers buying that black jug/vase. We all have different taste and styles.

I’ve been decorating for fall for the last 2 yrs but I don’t think this year maybe only dry florals or moody decor (candles, pottery and old books) no pumpkins for me it takes a lot of space to store. I always enjoy your videos. I have to go thru my bins to see what I will give away to my kids (they love my giveaways). I got rid of lots of Fall and Halloween last year. My birthday is October 29th and I always get gifts that are Fall or Halloween themed. I did keep some favorite pumpkins but I decorate now with beautiful florals and stay away from the "cutesie" stuff. I am also a fan of that vessel you picked up and agree with you it is the perfect size and I love the shape. Those keys are a perfect decor piece for such a great price too. Great video, as always. I tried dried stems a couple of fall years ago, and found them very messy. Last fall I did some beautiful faux leafy stems, and absolutely loved them. I do think HL has the best florals, and stems. But here in Mi. my friend and I go to a couple of little unique gift shops, and have picked up items you don’t see at our main stores. It’s kind of nice knowing you have something unique, and different.

I go for non-traditional fall as well. I like to use dried florals such as bunny tail and wheat in vases. However Aflorals burnt orange magnolia leaves are so pretty but spendy…keep thinking about them!
