I omit to say .... I'm a french modeler and love F4U .... from the U4 to U7 !
@ScalerDan8 ай бұрын
I just looked at some F4U-7 photos from the Korean War. French markings look great and weathering would be a challenge. I should definitely try it one day, especially since you don't see the French Corsair too often. Un grand salut à mes voisins français...ScalerDan

I live korean war era corsairs and over all you did a fpof job. 2 things though. 1. The wing root that gooes toward the engine exhaust 2. Korean war era corsairs had massive trails of exhaust stains. But overall i like what you did. Keep up the good work.

I you would try a U7 , Hasegawa is the best . Marking are colorful , with yellow and black stripes during "operations" on Suez operations in cooperation with British ! Or Algerian markings with AU1 again Hasegawa kit ..... Corsair ended service with french Navy in 62 .... and scrapped !!! only one still flying in USA with US navy making .

Hello, what kind of paint did you use, brand and color?
@ScalerDan3 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching and commenting! The colors used can be found in the top left corner of the video. I mainly used AK Real Colors and Vallejo Acrylics. I also show the problems I had with the chipping medium. Regards ScalerDan

Video of the build is very nice. Nevertheless what is with that sinister background melody?? 😮
@ScalerDan5 ай бұрын
Thank you for your honest comment and for watching. I try to keep the music subtle in the background, but I didn't quite succeed in this case. Finding free music is often a challenge and professional solutions still need a few more viewers 😉. Regards ScalerDan

Amazing! what do you think about the quality of the kit itself?
@ScalerDan2 күн бұрын
@randomjack1995 Thank you for your comment. For a late Corsair you don't have much options. HobbyBoss offers a solid kit for a fair price but you will need filler and sanding. The Details are nice and all problems can be solved. I would build it again but expect some extra work. Regards ScalerDan

Oh , by the way..... the SeaBlue FS15042 .... Tamiya , Hobby Color ...?

The right blue...always a good question. Vallejo Glossy Sea Blue if you like acrylics... I will play with AK Real colors Dark Sea Blue next time and you will find someone who says the color is wrong 😉

I still have a Humbrol Seablue ! Enamel ! very nice and match with FS15042 .... but out of production ! I tried every label , from Tamiya , Hobby color , and so on !!! Every !!! The 365 Hobby seam the best ..... for me ! Seablue deserve a great debate worldwide !!! I'm joking ....yours is great!!! @@ScalerDan

Hello my friend. Fantastic job building and painting this model. I do have one question. Why didn't the bottom of the model receive chipping? Maybe I missed it. Anyway, fantastic job.
@ScalerDan Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your kind words. On carrier based aircraft the top of the aircraft gets more sun, rain, dirt and the crew walks around so the paint will chip earlier. The bottom is more protected. Land based aircraft would get more chipping at the bottom due to dirty landing strips and stones. But it depends...I often overdo the chipping a little. It's more a artistic choice. Regards ScalerDan

Very nice plane! and great construction! As you can see in my videos... I actually haven't built a second World War machine yet... but I would actually like this... (maybe because I played Blue Max on the Comodore 64 in the 80´s back then... and you can do it with the plane could land on the carrier ship... Nice model!^^ Greetings
@ScalerDan4 ай бұрын
Thank you for the nice comment. If you can build detailed ships, you can easily build a WW2 warbird. I saw the first computer at a friend's house in the early 90s and remember 'Wings of Fury'. Great memories... Kind regards ScalerDan

Nice build. But you are not doing yourself any favours using Vallejo Air paint. It’s too thick in the bottle and the result is a lot of orange peel in your paint. When you are laying the blue on the cowing you see the paint beading off and that’s a result of your chipping fluid being applied too thick as well. Shoot that on as a light mist from a distance. I struggled with Vallejo as well and switching to Mr Color lacquers was a game changer.
@ScalerDan Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the helpful advice. I should really stick with the things that work. My goto colors are AK Real Colors with Mr. Hobby thinner. I will only spray acrylic paints in exceptional cases...it's no fun anymore. I'll keep the chipping liquid thing in mind next time...Regards ScalerDan
@erikjackson84 Жыл бұрын
His result still looks amazing. I don’t use laquer because it is too gassy and messy and I still prefer my acrylic paints. It’s all to preference.
@themapmaker5374Күн бұрын
Agreed. Lacquers are the best - best adhesion, best durability, best spraying. Of course the drawback is that you need really good ventilation or better yet, a spray booth where the fumes are routed outdoors. Other than for brush painting figures, I moved away from acrylics. I strictly use lacquers for all airbrushing.

Hi there , just found this vid , great build 👍 . However!! What was that god awful tune in the background !! I felt like i was tied to a f@cking chair , with someone trying to f@cking brainwash me !!!! Holy sh!t !!! Please rethink your background music !! 😂😂 subbed 👍👍
@ScalerDan Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the hopefully not entirely serious comment. My daughter had the same opinion so the music selection was probably not the best. Torture wasn't my intention, the music was supposed to just play quietly in the background but as always it's not easy to find free music. Better not watch my older videos, the music isn't great either...😉Regards ScalerDan
