Great video, guys- I really enjoyed it. By the way, the name of the Angelic Language you were looking for is Enochian, but it was developed by Dr. John Dee and Sir Edward Kelly, not Aleister Crowley. He made use of it, and included it in his tables of correspondences between various alphabets, elements, planets, etc, but he wasn’t its originator. Thanks for the video, and I’m looking forward to part two!

"Snappiness" should definitely be included in the judgement here, your basic categories were "how good is it to paint" and "rate the model" and I think snappiness fits in these very well 😛

A bit of a long one this. I disagree to some extent what you are saying about Russ. At the snapshot in time where you see him, there is a great maelstrom raging around Prospero, warp storms etc, so for the head pose, I think it is quite natural. Imagine fighting your way through a hailstorm or blizzard, or even rain in a strong wind, your natural inclination is to hunker your head down while trying to look at the direction of where you are going, which I think in this pose Russ is doing. So, for me Russ is running into the teeth of a psychic storm… Taken as a singular piece, it could be seen as him running into the thick of battle, bolt rounds etc flying around him, which is where he should be. In my view he is somewhat hunkered down to protect his bare head/ eyes so he can still see what is going on around him The arm across the body to me is a defensive, warding off aspect. Protecting the body from anything incoming by using the arm. The left leg is somewhat over extended, but he is running up a slope presumably giving it welly because the psychic maelstrom raging around him is making it hard for him to make his way to Magnus. And I would assume he is prepping to make a giant leap to get to his erst-while brother. Again, thinking of the storm raging around him, I could imagine the cloak being quite taut and flat with the psychic winds blasting against him, especially with additional weight from the axe/ heavy leather lining etc. If it was a frilly silk cloak, then it would be flapping around all over the place. I do wish they had sculpted a little battle damage on him. That’s just my view. Russ, I think should be a high A, low S I do not have Magnus, I like the wrathful appearance of Magnus’ face, although everything else in the model looks like he is focused and in control. I like the fact that he is the total opposite composition wise to Russ, where Russ is fighting against the oncoming storm, Magnus is the calm eye of the storm, so everything is projecting out from him. He also matches the pose of 30K Ahriman, with the outstretched arm. Would love to own this piece. Even if it would snap every 5 seconds. Spot on about Perturabo’s base though. It is silly and the left leg is sticking out too much, would look cooler if the top half stayed the same, but the lower portions changed. Maybe if he was striding up some cracked stairs with smashed pillars round him, he would look more intimidating, as it would set more of a siege breaker vibe, like he has cracked the hard shell of a bastion and now he is mowing down the defeated defenders. Currently while propped on the knight, he looks like that 6-year-old kid trying to balance on a big piece of concrete tubing who is about to wobble and fall over backwards, doing themselves a mischief. I do not have Lorgar, and I know a lot of people do not like this model because it looks too ‘pedestrian’. I do like it. The pose is almost like a priest with an open hand beckoning you to come forward to him and see what he sees, and worship alongside him, however if he was not on that base, it could almost be a ‘come at me’ pose. The face shows a sadness for what he knows has to come and how the galaxy needs to burn/ the ignorance of those who cannot hear the music of the universe in the background and must be purged. Its almost like the quiet calm pose before the storm is unleashed, quite sinister. Hate to say this about the Lion (being a vlka fenryka fan) but he is an amazing model easily and S for me. He needs the open legs to make pose work with the twist in his body for the swing. Try swinging a 2 handed sword standing upright with your legs together… It would not be a stable position to fight from and you would fall over. While you think the model is boring, the Lion, I think would value function over ornamentation. Just hate trying to keep the warped sword straight…. Base is brilliant. Agree with you about Kurze, Night Haunter is a great model (hate the wrist blades though, keep blimmin’ falling off. What do you think of doing a diorama with Konrad Curze and the Lion. Angry Lion butchering Night Lords trying to get to the Night Haunter, while Curze is on the pillar, sacrificing his sons so he can make his escape? Maybe a bit like when Konrad was on Ultramar, just before his capture on Macragge
