Oh wow! 17Yrs ❤️🐚 That’s fantastic I’ve been shelling for almost 5yrs. I’ve lived in Florida virtually my entire life….oh the shelling time lost 🤣 I remember moving down to central FL right after I got married (22yrs) and sitting home SO bored on the weekends! I look back at allllll that time now wishing I had it back lol. Busier than ever these days now but thank heavens I can still get out here and there to shell! Hopefully soon you can gets some beach days ahead 🤞🏼Glad you have been enjoying these videos, it’s been a long time coming🐚 I enjoy making them for you all ❤️

Spectral bittersweets may be common for shellers on the east coast of FL but it breaks my 💔 that they’re ignored. They are gorgeous little wonders!

So many amazingly colorful and beautiful shells. I’ve never seen such vibrant colors and hinged lions paws before, those are perfection. Scotch bonnets, colorful scallops and thorny oysters you had a fantastic walk. Thoroughly enjoyed going along.

Awesome!! More than happy to share with you! Had to share those paws-too beautiful 😍 I’d love to get my diving license so I could dive for paws like that myself but at the moment too chicken to get trained! Thx for your support and comment ❤️🌊☀️

Wow, lots of lovely colours on this walk! I think the Scotch Bonnets stood out the most to me, other than those amazing gifted Lion’s Paws. I also really liked the Turkey Wing at 18:05 - the lines are much more defined than what I see here 🤩 Thanks Roxann 👋🏻
@FloridaBeachWalks2 ай бұрын
Hello Maddie 🙂 Yes! Lots of color 😍 I wish our bonnets were the size of the beauties you find but they are cute and every now and then I do find one with much more colored spots ❤️ the juvenile turkey wings are nice and striking in their lines here 👍🏼 Have a great week shelling!

Awesome!!! If you sent me and email (you were of your trip) send me again-last week I had an issue w/my contact form on my website; so I’m not sure how many emails I lost (oh no!). All fixed now 👍🏼 Take care and I’m sure that flat is a beauty 😍🐚 Have a great week!

There are now so many lion's paws compared to several years ago. You could find one after many shelling trips. I wonder if the warming of the ocean is responsible? Thanks for your wonderful video.
@FloridaBeachWalks2 ай бұрын
I’m not sure I have only been shelling for a few years. I was talking once with someone who shells Coral Cove a lot finding lots of Lion Paws but now not so many 🐚 From what I notice, shells have their different seasons of abundance of washing up. For the paws though I haven’t pinned a “season” per say. Glad you enjoyed the video. Thx for watching.

Greatest morning in the sun and the beach almost vacant ! I havee shelled at Juno but did not have time that trip to go to Jupiter. I like being away from the crowds. Are there lots of parking areas ? Thank you.
@FloridaBeachWalks2 ай бұрын
I've only been here one time when I saw a crowd and it was Memorial Day I believe, other than that there are only ever a handful of people I've seen there in the mornings; I don't really go any other time besides sunrise there. It is pay to park--plenty of parking at Nathaniel P. Reed Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge. They only have porta potties and no showers but the beach park that you have to pass to get to this refuge (Hobe Sound Beach, end of SE Bridge Rd) has nice showers and bathrooms and I often make a pit stop in there on the way in and/or out of the refuge (free parking). It's a nice spot. Right off the parking lot you can go on long nature walk also on a path that's in the middle of the island.

If the last lions paw wouldn't open, does that mean it could be alive?
@FloridaBeachWalks2 ай бұрын
It’s not alive. I can peek inside and it’s empty as can be but it’s crusted closed and I don’t want to pry it open…that’s all. 👍🏼

I thought it was illegal to come to coral in Florida ???
@FloridaBeachWalks2 ай бұрын
Yes, it is unlawful to remove dead stoney & fire coral in Florida from the beach 🙏🏼 Time marker 7:54 I talk about that law and on the screen at time marker 19:31 says that all coral has been returned to the ocean. 🌊 Thx for watching 🐚

I think Hobe is pronounced Hoe-pay. I’m a Florida native. It’s an Indian tribe.
@FloridaBeachWalks2 ай бұрын
Neat 👍🏼 I’ve not heard that; that’s nice it was named after a tribe-something to look up for me -thank you! ❤️ I have heard Hobe like I said and then I’ve heard Ho-bee 🙂
