Update..... Hobie made it right on the Anchor Trolley Kit. Fast and courteous response! Thank you Hobie!

Great video, but one thing that bothers me is the position of the pulley and line guides you show here is different from what is shown in the "Hobie Anchor Trolley Installation" guide for Compass and Outback 2019+. In the video you put it above the side line (where the angle changes), just below the paddle holder, while in the instructions manual (PDF) it's shown below that line. This is a bit confusing.

I'm confused. Won't I need 4 well nuts? 2 well nuts for each pulley? My kit only has 2 well nuts

Drilling 😶 hopefully 2020 outback base 1/4 inserts for anchor trolley
@308at956305 жыл бұрын
I hope it comes with the hatch bucket and rear hatch before 1/4 inserts. The fact it doesn't already come with them is ridiculous on a $3K kayak. Hey but people (myself included) still buy them. I just wish hobie was more customer orientated.

@@308at95630 not even the 2021 will have these features. AND they are charging $150 more for zero upgrades.

How does the rubber hold up long term on the well nuts? Concerned about the rubber cracking under the compression and the elements. What’s the life expectancy?Thank you.
@HobieOfficial5 жыл бұрын
These well nuts are strong and durable, but the life expectancy can vary based on storage conditions. Try to store your kayak covered and out of the direct sunlight, and be sure to inspect the well nuts periodically to ensure there's no cracking or deterioration. It's not uncommon to get more than a year out of these, but replacing them each winter can be a good precautionary measure.

I can’t remember the name of it but there’s a chemical spray that mechanics use on rubber products like boots, etc. It keeps rubber products from cracking and deteriorating. I’m going to buy some when I install my trolley. Thought it might help.

@@HobieOfficial why has the pro angler premade holes for anchor trolley and the newest outback needs drilling???
@lebleup5 жыл бұрын
How well does your parts person know your products? I ordered a Anchor Trolley Kit “special order” direct from Hobie. The kit had only 2 well nuts instead of the 4 needed. 2 for each pulley as you show in this video. The rep I just got off the phone with told me he called Hobie just now and the parts person said in fact only two wellnuts come with the kit. Really? Can you please explain..... drill two holes for each pulley. 4 holes in all.... yet only 2 well nuts, One for each? Please clear this up. I am about to take a trip with my 2019 Outback and I’d hate something as ridiculous as this cause me to go another route.

Great video. The guitar background is very distracting and unnecessary. If a person has hearing impairment, it makes it much harder to hear the commentary. Intro music is fine, but if you stop it during content (or make it barely audible) it helps the learning experience. KZbinrs should learn that we don't have to create an ambiance for viewers. We get that thrust at us everywhere: stores, restaurants; etc. It's as much a violation as second-hand smoke. Information trumps ambiance.

Agreed, it was nice that you spent so much time showing the install. 5 extra seconds to show it working would have really helped

it allows you to position either the bow or stern into the wind/current so you can face whichever direction you choose.

Well. I Watch the video religiously… little bit scary to drill my New outback Only 2 welnuts versus 6 on the video… If Havin an issue du ring installation. Adios guarantee… The notice inside the kit is not informative as well

No lever lock on it??? And, most RIGHT handed folks fish, and land fish on the RIGHT side of the kayak, so you want the trolley on the LEFT side out of the way, anchor lines out of way...
