How to replace the bungee (shock cord) on the Hobie Adventure Island. Eventually, the rubber strands become brittle or lose their elasticity creating a risk of your ama (outrigger) coming undone. The steps are simple but a few pitfalls make it a PIA.

Steve, we all love your vessel! I have my Jonny bass boat 100 set up similar. 2.5 suzuki, scotty outriggers, and a small 30lb thrust Minn-kota off her bow. So I have 3 ways to get home, with my paddle. I wish you would do a windy day complete overhaul, cleaning, nice re-sprayed pontoons, all your black piping and definitely a nice new seat. I love that boat, but love to see it all clean and beautiful. Just a windy day chore suggestion. Love and have learned so much from you. And I love your apparel. No one comes close..God bless!

I mounted one hobie outrigger (ama and aka) on a powered canoe. Folds and unfolds under way with a line, a bungee, and a jam cleat. Folded it is very stable, unfolded it is like standing on a dock! Causes very little drag. Anyway, the bungees are shot, your video was very helpful. Thanks

I found one online at a shop in California. It doesnt match my kayak color, but it floats. Shipping was a beast though at just over $100.

@@anthonydetmer it was about $450 plus shipping if I remember correctly. Expensive, but worth it for me. Total for Outrigger (AMA) cross bars x2 and outrigger bars x2 (AKA) was about $900.
