Hobie Lynx Offshore Fishing for Red Snapper!

Well it has been a minute since I uploaded a video. I've been pretty busy with life, getting a new kayak, and dodging thunderstorms whenever I do have the chance to fish. Anyway, this is my first time going offshore in the Lynx and ended up being pretty productive. Enjoy!

Congrats on the new kayak and nice way to break it in. Weird little fish but apparently not good bait since snapper took the lure. Cool underwater footage and dolphins probably got it. Always better safe than sorry with FWC and fish size. Great video

Thanks man! Exactly what I was thinking. If it hit the lure and not the fish, there’s probably something weird about that little guy. Lol yeah, and FWC is always patrolling Navarre.

I know, I tried to get some with one camera. That one clip of me dragging it on shore during the outdo was the best I got. 😅 maybe next time. Yeah it was a shock! Beats a lot of these big kayaks that are a pain to move around on the beach.

Nice video! How much have you trolled on your Lynx? I'm looking for a lighter kayak option and like the Lynx but wonder how strong the tracks are for trolling purposes.

I haven’t trolled a whole lot on it just yet. The tracks seem to be pretty strong, but they are plastic so I’m not sure how well they’ll hold up after hours of trolling in the heat. I would use the h rail system and mount rod holders on those for trolling. Probably way more durable. 👍🏼

Absolutely! Of course you will have to be careful when you go out just like any other kayak. I’ve honestly fished it offshore more than any other type of fishing with no problems. It’s a good time. 👍🏼

Depends on what I’m targeting, but at most 1.5 mile. Not super far. A lot of cool fish can be caught within half a mile from the beach. Just need to know when and where to look. 🤙🏼

I appreciate it! All of the mounting gear is made by the Yak Attack Brand. I used the Cell Block to store the battery, the switchblade to mount the transducer which also mounts on top of the cellblock, and round base fish finder mount for the Garmin that attaches to the switchblade. Those three make a pretty good setup. Hope this helps. 👍🏼

I think that little guy who hit the jig in the beginning of the video was a baby tile fish very slow growing fish but a beautiful fish when they get larger.
