I just put mine on our PA14 with my 14 year old son helping out. These directions are most definitely the best on KZbin, everyone just watch this one. I also bought my PA and Outback from headwaters and gotta say, it was an awesome experience. They hooked me up with a trailer for both yaks and also had patience when my work schedule changed and I couldn’t pick them up right away. Super customer service, some great folks working there, highly recommend the company and this video.

Does the groovy bar get in the way of the big beach wheel hobie cart when stored upside down after you launch? What's the maximum load weight limit on these? Can i fully load my kayak?

Is it possible to actually reach all the way to the gunwale from the hatch? Hoping I won’t need extra rigging tools haha

If you have extremely long skinny arms, you might be able to reach it. I had a buddy help me and he was 6’4” tall and we still had to use fishing line to fish the bracket up. His arms could not reach due to the acute angle and small opening in the rear of the PA. Hope this helps.

Is it still under warranty with the added holes drilled into the body ?

Drilling holes do not void the warranty. Hobie instructs you to drill holes for many accessories. Installing the landing gear does not void the warranty but they will not cover any cracks caused by the landing gear. That said I have had this on numerous fully rigged kayaks without issues.

Do they make this for the compass? I know the slopes makes the top of the deck uneven, but that would be a cool video too!

They don't make a kit specifically for the compass, but I'm sure we can figure out a way to mount one. We'll definitely put that on the list of videos to make!

It sure is! If you purchase the Boonedox Standard Landing Gear kit it will come with the prices that you need for the install on the 2019+ Outback.

I heard this addon can void the warranty. Anyone used their BD landing gear for any length of time? Should I worry about this cracking the hull?

If the Landing Gear does cause a crack it is not covered under the warranty. That being said, we have not had a problem since Boonedox has starting using bigger backing plates.

Thanks for this video. I just installed mine. The instructions that come with it are less than helpful. Following your video made the install a breeze. About an hour for me.
